Did buy the Debrunner Blss Greek Grammar , but tat onewas over my head!

 

I believe you are referring to Robertson's grammar here, right? The biggest lack is in the area of verbal aspect. A lot of work has been done in that area since that grammar. However, t was first printed in 1934, after the main papyrii discoveries, so it's pretty up to date in its semantics.i

 

Yes, and that particular area would be better served in anoter more up to date Grammar?
Have yo tried th other one, the think ot was Blass Debrunner Grammar?

 

Blass-Debrunner was recently given me by a Greek prof friend, so I'm planning to read it but haven't had time yet to do more than look at it. At a guess, since the edition I have is dated 1961, it would not have the most recent research on verbal aspect. However, I was just talking to my son, who also teaches Greek and recently saw Dr. David Alan Black. They spoke of a book that purported to explain all of the controversy, but at the end is just as dense as any other book. So, verbal aspect theory is still pretty much in flux.

 

They re evisingan updatingtha book, and I made a mistake andbought it to soon to learn from, as mainly written in Latin/German/Greek!
