If I answered your question, it would mean I accept the crap you put up, which I don't. I didn't get personal with you, I suggest you do the same with me.

Don't worry, BroCurtis....as things go, that's much better than "I never knew you."

Bro Curtis said that he detests the Catholic Church, we are talking about the church that he detests not about bro Curtis's salvation, I was comparing Saul/Paul when Jesus said to Saul those words, but Saul never had any personal connection with the living [ meaning on earth ] Jesus so, Jesus was speaking to Saul about persecuting His Church, which is what BroCurtis is doing.

carpro. I do believe in Purgatory, but show me the post where I said that.

I know. I never meant to imply that anyone here was questioning another's salvation. I think that Bro Curtis was saying (and he can correct me if I am wrong) that he detests the Roman Catholic Church (not the "catholic Church" as in Christ's one, universal Church....the Body of Christ composed of the redeemed). If so, then I agree completely with him - the Roman Catholic Church is detestable.

People run into this with the CoC also. They take a term, claim the name, and believe all the histories related to that term belong to them. It is illogical, but that's often the way with these things I suppose.

No he wouldn't. The RCC is not his church. He might have a few questions for you, though.

BroCurtis, then tell me, which of the many churches is that One True Holy Apostolic Church that Jesus formed [ yes He did ] on his Apostles, which non-Catholic [as in Apostolic church , because Jesus without a doubt formed His Universal Church only on His Apostles/ Successors ] for the past two-thousand years can trace its lineage directly back to the apostles ? Name that one church.

No, Lakeside. I've had enough of the circular arguments the RCC uses. All you need to know is I completely reject your claims.

You say the church doesn't worship objects. What's with the Basilicas built for the "virgins" of San Juan, Guadalupe, and others? Why does the RCC charge poor Mexicans to pray to these dolls ? What's done with the money ?

Why did the RCC kill so many who rejected them ? You can only claim to be the original church because it tried to eliminate all the others. We're still here. Still rejecting it. The claim of Peter being the first pope is ridiculous on it's face. he didn't preach any of your nonsense.

Why have some popes dug others up from the grave to try them, and punish them ? Why are popes constantly undoing other popes ? What's with the gay marriage schism ? Bishop Spong ?

Please. The RCC is a mess of paganism, spiritualism, humanism, and run by the greediest, bloodthirstiest leadership in the world's history.

He doesn't understand, Bro. Curtis, the nature of the Church. I don't even think he realizes his argument is circular. In his mind, I believe that he cannot conceive of a Church other than one in the nature of the RCC. We're on 20+ pages so far in this thread, and he was stuck in the same haze on other ongoing threads. He cannot understand, just as I couldn't understand...until by the grace of God I did. You are, IMHO, wasting your time.

Just show me where Jesus told your religious ancestors that He would give them His Authority to build any future church on anybody else besides his apostles along with His Authority as given to His apostles to ordain and pass on their Christ-given authority to form different churches from His at Pentecost 1st century. As per bible. Go to your bibles and prove it to me, if you can, but you can't, can you. At least be honest to yourselves.

Bishop Spong? Seriously? Bro. Curtis, FYI Bishop Spong is member of the Episcopal Church. If you are so wrong about this why should we believe any of the other drivel in this post? In fact most of it is not true but Spong is an easy one to prove and my time is very limited.

Spong is retired, thank God. But he did enough harm before he retired.

What about the basilicas? Or did I miss something from an earlier post?

Anyway, it may be a few days before I get back to you so I'm guessing you are speaking of the basilicas erected to the honor of the Virgin Mary. So what is your point about this?

I didn't know there was more than one Virgin Mary. The RCC has built basilicas for several virgins. I would hope they're virgins. After all, dolls live in those places. Dolls.
