FYI on Hyper-Calvinism:
I though it might be helpful to point out that in order for someone to use the term "Hyper-Calvinism" in the manner it has been used historically, and in which it finds its accepted definition, the following should be considered:
1. A Hyper-Calvinists is not simply a "really serious calvinist", or even a "high-calvinist", or a Supralapsarian (one who beleives in double-predestination), or even one who believes that God is the Ultimate reason for all things that happen, even evil.

Gospel Community
In another thread a question came up regarding gospel community.
Just wondering if anyone else considers the topic, and/or what you are actually doing to encourage or discourage it in your local church.
This is NOT a thread about Calvinism/Arminianism, and I would appreciate it if the moderators would help us police it that way. Thanks!
I'll start the discussion, which is redundant because I already have...
In any case, I see "gospel community" as one of the driving... -
Why do non cals say cals teach regeneration before faith?
Know that some such as DHK have posted that Cals hold to that, isn't it more true ONLY hyper cals do, and that majority hold tofaith as a Gift of God same times pretty much as receiving Christ to be saved? -
Fundamental View of the Bible
All of the Bible is given by inspiration of God and is thus without error. It is the very Word of God. It does not merely contain the Word of God, as if it contained the erroneous words of men mingled with the perfect words of God. The doctrine of inspiration is the first principle from which all biblical doctrines are derived. Its truth is revealed to man by God. [2Sa 7:28; 23:2; Psa 12:6; 25:5; 111:7-8; 119:43,89; 138:2; Dan 10:21; Joh 17:17; Act 3:18; 1Co 2:4,12-16; 2Ti 2:15; 3:15-17; Heb... -
When were they Created in Christ ?
Eph 2:10
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
When were they Created in Christ ? You see all those who are in Time saved by Grace through Faith, were created in Christ Jesus ! See 1 Tim 2:5 ; 2 Tim 1:9 unto Good Works, He hath before ordained, that we [ The Workmanship] should walk in them !
When was this Creation ? For it was in Christ the Anointed they were Created. Paul Tells us in 1 Cor... -
Ye must be born again 2
steaver
A person is not born again by any decision of the will.
I agree, but why did you not make any comments on posts 286 and 289 ? Do you understand the point I am conveying there ? -
Learning to preach.
How did you learn to preach?
On your own?
At Bible college/seminary?
Workshops (aka in-house training with your Pastor)?
Has your preaching changed over the years? If so, in what way(s)? -
Death passed upon all men
Rom. 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
1. The "one man" is Adam
2. The "sin" is that which God forewarned Adam not to do in Genesis. 2:16-17a
3. The "death" is that which God described in Genesis 2:17b.
4. "death by sin" refers to the death described in Gen. 2:17b as the penalty of violating God's law in Gen. 2;16-17a.
5. The nature of this penalty is death in its most... -
Made righteous by Christ obedience.
Rom 5:19
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Just as adams disobedience made many sinners, so likewise, Jesus christ obedience made many sinners righteous..
Not their obedience, not their faith [which is obedience], not their water baptism, not their repentance..but Jesus christ obedience made them righteous before God..
The word made is the greek word:
kathistēmi which means:
to constitute, to render,... -
Another Determinist Question
If God is in control of everything to the point of determining what I'm going to have for lunch on Friday (see other thread), how can the Holy Spirit be grieved? How can the Holy Spirit be quenched?
The Bible says,
"Grieve not the Holy Spirit" Eph. 4:30
"Quench not the Spirit" 1 Thess 5:19
Is it God's decreed will that the Spirit is grieved? I don't think so.
Is it God's permissive will that the Spirit is grieved? I don't think so.
So how can the Spirit be grieved? Or if you like, why is...
