Mods? Please close "Salvation: A Gift or a Reward?"
It is offensive and inflammatory.
Me nor any other Baptist that i know of believe that salvation is a reward because we accept it.
Acceptance a gift doesnt make it a reward, and I am offended that that P4T says that anyone but DoG's think it is.
Please close that thread

Salvation: A Gift or a Reward?
Calvinists and all Christians confess that salvation is a free gift. I am leaving out cultic teachings and beliefs that expressly believe that salvation is of works, i.e. Mormonism, Catholicism, SAD, JW's &c.
However, there are teachings that turn this gift into a reward that are outside of these cultic groups and thought of as orthodox in belief systems.
One specific theology, and other nominal belief systems that make this gift a reward is found within the teachings of Arminian... -
What is the role of women in the Church?
I have just left a church where a woman was allowed to lead the sevice (badly) and preside over the Lord's Supper (badly). Am I wrong and am I being intollerant? Should I be prepared to move with the times? -

When is a person saved?
I have been reading the different theologies here on the BB, and it brings up a question.
When are people saved?
If a person is predestined as one of the elect to go to heaven before he is already born, then he must already be saved before birth. If God saves a person without the person having a choice, then is he ever really lost? After all, salvation means going to heaven, and if God decided to give you salvation before birth, then arent you already saved before you are born?... -
How does God accomplish His Will
You use the word "world" to say that God wants all mankind to be saved eternally. If He does want all mankind to be saved eternally, how does that theory harmonise with Dan 4:35 that says God accomplishes all his will? How does this make your theory consistent with all scriptures? Those in Rom 11 whos hearts he hardened were his regenerated elect. Israel is a type and shadow of God's elect people, God even changed Jacob's name to Israel, Gen 32:28. What cubbie hole of yours do you put 2 Tim... -
Was Jesus Christ a Jew by Blood ?
Many today believe Jesus Christ is or was a Jew by Blood, however that is impossible !
You see, Jesus was not born by blood, and Jn 1:13 can also apply to Him Jn 1:13
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
He did not have Joseph's Blood, for he was not the natural father of Jesus Christ; nor did He have mary's blood, but He generated His own Blood while in the womb of the virgin.

Will there be different races in heaven as there are here on earth (e.g., yellow, black, white, etc.)? -
Easier?
Luk 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
I would like to know how Calvinists understand this scripture. Why, if a person is chosen before the foundation of the world, and drawn by Irresistible Grace would it be more difficult for a rich person to be saved?
Seems to me if DoG is...
