I think it is sad that despite liberals cry for separation of church & state they support something like this. That just shows that they believe in double standards. One set of standards for Christians & another set of standards for them.

Our founding fathers intended for our nation to be a Christian nation. For those that doubt that, you only need to see the speeches & statements they have made. It makes you wonder where our nation went wrong.

I attended a "Silencing of God" seminar about a week ago. It was informative. Check out www.SilencingofGod.com.

Who is this "they" you speak of? While it is only a proclamation and not a law, I am against any intermingling of religion and government. To be logically consistent, one must not only be against this proclamation, but also against the NDOP proclamations as well. Sauce for the goose, my friend.

No, the USA is created as a secular republic where all are free to worship according to the dictates of their conscience, or not at all. The Constitution is a totally Godless document that establishes a secular government for our nation.

The "they" I speak of are liberals who support "separation of church & state", but turn around & allow for an Islam day.

You really need to read the speeches that people like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, John Adams, Ben Franklin, & our other founding fathers have made. At first, I thought people with your same point of view were somewhat correct on that. To believe otherwise after reading their speeches, one would have to have blinders on or be idiotic to not see that.

Perhaps, you could tell me where the term, "separation of church & state" is found in our Constitution.

"Our founding fathers intended for our nation to be a Christian nation." Amen to that! I can see nothing but the downward spiral of our country. So let them have a Gay Pride Parade next to an Islam Parade and see if it floats. Ironic...Funny but not funny!

There are quotes floating around that support opposite viewpoints. You should research primary sources. Many of the so-called quotes were put on the internet and published in books by people like revisionist David Barton of Wallbuilders, who have been thoroughly discredited. Still, their "research" is quoted as gospel. Regardless, quotes don't govern the nation...the Constitution is the law of the land.

Perhaps you could tell me where the word "Trinity" is found in the Bible.

Magnetic Poles you sure seem to be a contentious one against fundamental Christianity . You seem very liberal to the point of saying"where is trinity found". Come on and show me an apologetic about the christian faith if you would about the trinity:smilewinkgrin:

The Force is weak in this young one. Help you understand, I will.

The point is that a word or phrase can be used to describe a concept...e.g. Jefferson's "wall of separation between church and state" for a concept found in the First Amendment...or the word "trinity" which is not found in the bible, but is used as a way to describe a concept that many Christians hold to be a description of the nature of God.

Separation of church & state means that the government is not run any religion. It doesn't mean that it has to be secular. That's what our forefathers were trying to get away from when they declared independence from Britain.

I bet you are one of those that would have "God" removed from our state constitution & remove "In God we trust" from our currency too.

You can't have it both ways. It is one or the other. It is either secular, or it is run by religion. If your assertion were true, you'd think they would have mentioned it in the Constitution.

Funny...that little issue of taxation without representation had nothing to do with it? Also, I suggest you read Common Sense by Thomas Paine, one of the writings that made the case for revolution. BTW, you should then read his The Age of Reason to get his perspective on religion. The US was a product of the Enlightenment, not the Bible. [/quote]

I don't really care, but the reason the phrase was added by act of Congress in the 1950s was to separate us from "Godless Communism". It had only sporatically appeared on coinage prior to that. This was the same time the original motto was changed to this. I somewhat favor the original, E Pluribus Unum, as it does describe this nation in an all inclusive way...From many, one. We are made up of many people, and from many states.
