ABC News to be Anchored from the White House....

Scarlett, I think the Drudge report is being sensationalistic. ABC is NOT turning over the newscast to the administration. Charlie Gibson will present the news. The primetime special may be an op/ed, but it will likely be presented as such. We shall see.

 

A request for proposal should have been published and the best proposal should have been put out for bid. Maybe Al Jezera (sp?) would have made the high bid. Should be worth at least $10 million a year. Maybe lots more.

 

The organizations like this became part of the state run media the moment Obama was elected.

 

Meh, the headline is too melodramatic and misleading - he didn't seize control over ABC News, they're doing this willingly to advance the cause. They've been advocating a plan like this on shows like "20/20" for years now, they want Obama to succeed where Clinton failed and obviously don't care if it hurts their ratings or any misperception that they're unbiased - this plan is pretty radical and healthcare as an issue is always BORING.

 

Really? Where is your evidence. I know Fox is a GOP organ run by Ailes, but what do you have to support this assertion. Or do ya got nothin?

 

The real problem began many years ago when news organizations were gutted of their independent voice and resources, and began being run by the entertainment divisions of the networks. This makes the news nothing more than another ratings gainer and entertainment program.

 

FOX is not a GOP run station. FOX is a Catholic station, with a liberal, Shep Smith, as it's most-seen face.

 

Control of the news media is one of the first goals of a dictator. Of course the leftists have been doing that for years just waiting for "bo".

 

So how come talk radio is dominated by the right? Why do partisan folks like Olbermann, Schultz, & Hannity have tv programs if the media is govt. controlled?

 

Because libby ideas cannot make it on the open market. Even Fox News dominates TV and has ratings higher than all the other channels combined.

Anyone media outlet that is blindly in support of odrama is state run as they wait for their cues from the current admin. This includes ABC,CBS, NBC

The point is not that the government has taken over the news media (yet). It is that much of the mainstream media has willingly and purposefully placed itself in the tank for President Obama and his policies.

ABC has now come into the fold, joining NBC and CBS, MSNBC and CNN.
