What do you think of this? I was going to put it in the Baptist forum, but was afraid I would get bashed for criticizing RW, although I am not criticizing him. I have my view but am asking for views.

Do you think he will give the gospel?

Well, it will be interesting to see what he has to say. It's a great opportunity for the Gospel to be shared, but I don't think he'll do it. I don't believe they would let him speak there unless they already confirmed the content of his speech.

I'd love to be wrong and see him get up there and tell them that islam will send them to hell and Jesus is the only way.

I don't know, but that is the ONLY reason a famous Christian pastor should be speaking to a crowd of muslims.

I wonder what Jesus would talk about to a crowd of Muslims?

I would hope so. Seems it can be the only purpose that does not end in compromise. If he doesn't

Warren is taking a really big risk in trying to
    Preach to people about Jesus.
We all need to pray that their hearts and souls will be won to Christ!
That is all that we can do!

Rom 10:13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
Rom 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"

This is a great Acts 17 opportunity for RW. But he's spoken before to Muslims and as far as I know, did not give the gospel. So let's pray he does this time.

I am suspicious of Rick Warren`s purpose driven church growth marketing methods.

Warren Smiths book Deceived on Purpose The New Age Implications of the Purpose Driven Church really got me concerned back in 2004.His high praise of Robert Shuller should concern everyone.Warren Smith came out of the New Age to Christ and is well qualified to speak about how it is getting in the Church.

    God bless in Jesus.

    Steven.

The gospel is offensive to Muslims. If he hacks off the Muslim community then we know he was right on message. If not, then we know he was just pandering.

Besides his prayer at the inauguration and his recent panderings to Sodom, the fact that he was even invited leaves little hope that he will be faithful to the Gospel, even for those who cannot see the danger in his other gospel.

I sure hope so. Nothing wrong with going of course. Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and commended them for being believers in a God and being religious...and then he told them of the true God.

We shall see how he handles it.

Hopefully he will do better than Pope John Paul II who entered into a prayer gathering with seiks, Hindus, voodo practioners etc and never preached the gospel, and even proclaimed they were all praying to the same God.
