At least it doesn't fund abortions or illegal aliens.

Also, it looks like it will be easy to filibuster the bill in the U.S. Senate.

The bill only passed by a margin of 5 votes. sounds like an overwhelming mandate to me, doesn't it.

I wonder how many of those congressmen just may not get elected next year?

Of course, now, the bill goes to the Senate, and chances are, they will pass a slightly different bill, which then will have to be ironed out in a joint committee.

    There is still hope.

They will all be reelected next year—if there is an election. Only those whose seats were in jeopary were allowed to dissent.

There is no hope in man.

I don't think you folks realize how desperate the socialists are to bring this nation down, and the Lord is on the wall with His plumbline.

Prepare for perilous times, but pray they will not be in the winter (metaphorically speaking).

I doubt this will pass the Senate. If it does however, it needs to be for certain that if will not fund abortions.

I'm glad they removed abortion funding. While I have mixed feelings on the bill, a clear majority of Americans support a public option that they can choose if they feel that it better suits them than a private insurance company. My concerns with the bill are that I think there is a liberty issue with requiring people to have insurance or pay a fine and in forcing insurance companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions. With that said, this bill may be the best of both worlds. You get universal coverage while still preserving peoples' rights to choose their own insurance company. All in all, things are looking up for our health care system.

If it gets to conference, which I doubt, the restrictions on abortion funding will disappear!

Given Reid's low popularity in Nevada in an election year I will be surprised if a bill comes to the floor in the Senate.

That is subject to debate. I think the voting last Tuesday show that people are sick of "Change with a Difference" Obama!

    Obviously unconstitutional!

How does it preserve peoples rights? It takes them away!

If they add Tort reform, along with competition across state lines... along with not funding abortion or supporting illegals.. I may be swayed to support this...

OK... pick yourself off the floor~!

Sorry, I don't buy it. And it really doesn't matter if a "majority" buy in to something...if that "something" is unconstitutional...
And if your "concerns" aren't enough to sink the bill on its own merits, we have bigger problems than healthcare...

Sure...if freedom and liberty aren't important to you...things are looking great!

The Constitution gives Congress the power to regulate interstate commerce.

Trust me my concerns are great; I'm just also concerned with the people that I know who are suffering right now because of lack of health insurance.

Apparently you aren't aware that we cannot cross state lines to purchase medical insurance. Which is part of the conservative platform to remove these inhibitors.
