I use it mainly as a resource to post new pictures of my daughter (3-years-old)!! That's how I get my family/friends to frequent my page, haha..

But seriously though, I enjoy Facebook. I particularly like being able to post pictures straight from my cell phone .. I take pictures as things happen and immediately put 'em on my page for safe keeping. It rocks!

I just "friend" requested anyone on the BB friends group that I wasn't friends with already. I'm the guy holding the kid standing in front of Optimus Prime :D

I have unsaved "friends" from my employment, from my past schools, and from my travels in life. I also have many Christian "friends" on Facebook, some are members of my church, some are members of this forum....I am glad I signed up, I hesitated for a while. You do have to watch which "apps" you allow to access your info, and I don't accept a friendship from anyone that doesnt share mutual friends with me already. I have had friend requests from "pastor so-and-so" and no mutual friends, and I ignore those.

I try to be a good witness for the Lord on facebook. I see many people from this forum that do the same.

I like facebook even though I don't use it as often as my wife and kids. I've joined and already accepted a couple of requests from friends of the baptist board. I have blocked some folks whose comments from them or their friends were offensive. It's an interesting way to communicate with people. One young couple from Church is using it to send me a message on which night and time would be good for their pre-marital counselling. Hope you have a good experience with facebook. Like dcorbett, I have both saved adnd unsaved friends on FB. I don't care for some of the comments made by some of them, but I witness to all of them. I was once as lost and undone as they are, after all.

I have all kinds of people as friends on Facebook, some Christian and some not. I have people from school/uni, church friends, other christian friends from camps I have helped on, friends of friends, social friends, and a couple of online friends.

I don't actually use it that much and don't log in every day but one thing I have noticed from time to time is the stark contrast between the profiles and status updates of the believers compared to the non-believers. I find that oddly encouraging, as it shows there is a difference between people who are in the kingdom and people who are of the world.

If Jesus is called the "friend of sinners" it most certainly permissible for us to follow in His footsteps. I would say about a quarter or a third of those on my friends list are believers, the rest consist of grade school, high school, business, atheists, agnostics, a wiccan, and homosexuals. I'm hoping I can be light to them.

I agree with the above. To be fair, despite what I posted above, I don't offend that easily and its relatively rare that a status update offends me. It can be depressing when you see how far some people who used to show interest in the faith have drifted away from it but the encouraging side is seeing people really growing in their faith and their lives in general.

Well, one thing Facebook is good for - watching the teens.

One of the girls at church is one of my "friends" and I've been a bit concerned about some of her attitude on Facebook - and the fact that she's in the children's ministry. Well, she posted a status yesterday with the most vile cursing ever! Yes, most of it was the acronyms but it was VERY clear what she was saying. Her responses back to people under that were even worse. I grabbed a screen shot and sent it off to our children's pastor. I'd have not known what she was like outside of the few times I see her other than this. I've seen her use the "OMG" sort of thing before and I forbid my daughter from sleeping over her house because of that (using the acronym cursing online - and not just the "OMG" thing) but she went into VERY bad stuff this time. I'm glad I've limited my daughter's time with her (which my daughter FULLY agrees with but she needed a good excuse to be able to say "no" to the sleep over anyway since this girl was PUSHING for DD to sleep over there). So it's a good way to keep track of your kids' friends. :type:

Yes, my husband's daughter is a professing wiccan, and I hope that she someday finds Christ through our witness to her. I also have some very unsaved mormon friends (relatives of my formerly mormon daughter-in-law) on facebook, and I post only scripture that declares the Supreme God, creator of all, not the Heavenly father, as we Christians call him but the mormons mean literally and misconstrue. "How shall they hear without a preacher?"

It is amazing what people of any age will post on there. I guess they forget who is included in their friends list, so they don't pay attention to who is reading what they post. My niece posted some serious profanity without using any acronyms. I haven't said anything to my brother because they are in the process of moving, but I need to.
