Maybe our first response should be hospitality to these unfortunate, displaced people. They have had a tragedy befall them and we should be graceful towards them.
Don't you know, John? They're black and poor. If this had happened in Iceland, and it was middle-class white folks, I doubt this concern would have even been expressed. And the problem is?

A call to prepare.... for hospitality or appeal for help or an opportunity for mission or a chance to adopt a child or a family?Be On the Lookout for one million Haitian Refugees.
The problem is that many people in a land of poverty are now hurting, and homeless, sick and broken. Its an opportunity for choices. It doesn't mean, necessarilly, opening doors to unlimited immigration nor an influx of devil worshippers: But, I'm sure, there are many Christians in their numbers.... as brethren, we should be concerned for them as well as the lost souls among the rest. And the problem is?
Actually, had it been Iceland.... the offer of help might be there but the 'middle class' of that nation, as you put it, would probably be strong enough in economics and stability to respond quickly to their own without much suffering to those who live through it. But Hatti's poverty in both wealth and stability is likely to have trouble responding to reduce the additional suffering of a people already suffering. They are human. They are poor. Many are lost. Some are brothers and sisters in Christ. Is color what YOU SEE MP????????Don't you know, John? They're black and poor. Another 'ditto-head'??????:tonofbricks:I think you're exactly right. Of course, they don't come out and say it, but the subtext is there. This is a perfect case of racist code words being used.

the next thing we'll do is give away welfare.Maybe our first response should be hospitality to these unfortunate, displaced people. They have had a tragedy befall them and we should be graceful towards them.
Typical racist response. Some of your best friends are black too.the next thing we'll do is give away welfare.
I noticed the real racists here are always there to draw attention to a person race that they are different.

I don't have friends, black, white or anyother color.
It's MY choice not to have friends, you assume and insinuate otherwise and your assumption is false.I am not surprised in the least.

But truth rarely interests you anyway.
