US Dept of Education--buying shotguns??

    “The Office of Inspector General is the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Education and is responsible for the detection of waste, fraud, abuse, and other criminal activity involving Federal education funds, programs, and operations. As such, OIG operates with full statutory law enforcement authority, which includes conducting search warrants, making arrests, and carrying firearms. The acquisition of these firearms is necessary to replace older and mechanically malfunctioning firearms, and in compliance with Federal procurement requirements."

    No doubt the reality of it is much less than described above.

    Some schools do have police that are active.

    But are they U.S. Department of Education employees or local police officers?

    Hey...Dept. of education folks are so much smarter than us peons...they probably should shoot us all for being so much more ignorant than they are...

    shotguns are part of public education? maybe teachers are carrying shotguns now, or truant officers, football coachs, chess club president?

    I grew up in the Chicago school system, can get rough thats for sure. But thats what the police are for.
