The more I hear about this communistic plot that makes a mockery of how our country is supposed to be run...the angrier I get.

Let's throw all 535 out and start over.

Now that so many Americans will be at the government teat...it will likely become impossible to rein in these socialist pigs. Too many people can vote themselves "raises."

Welcome to the full-blown welfare state. And if you're not disgusted at how all this was done, I question your comprehension skills.

The same process used repeatedly by the GOP when they were in power. Such short memories. Tsk, tsk.

This is politics par usual . Why the surprise? Both parties do it when it suits them.

Beside, Obama got a majority vote. The voters now have a choice. Simple enough.

Politics (I call it "Poli-ticks" because we keep electing those blood-suckers to office) is part of the Curse from the Fall.

Only a good dose of Gospel preaching on salvation can change the course of our country.

Let's stop bewailing the inevitable (humanly speaking) and start doing some proclaiming of the Truth.

Sigh. Everyone, it's ok because the other guys did the same thing. You know, my mom had an excellent way to refute this childish argument: if so and so jumped off a bridge would you do it too?

When anyone, Republican or Democrat, goes around the way our founders intended for our government to run, when they pass something that would lawfully be shut down, they are in the wrong and should be voted out. To use the excuse that someone else had done it, therefore it is acceptable is ridiculous. Since this is supposed to be a Christian forum I'll question people based on Christian principles. Does our religion teach that it is ok to do whatever it takes, and that we can justify things based on what other people have done? No. The bible says when Jesus was reviled He reviled not again. He didn't say, well they hated me without a cause, they are mocking me, so it is ok to do it to them. Instead He reviled not again. Our religion teaches that we are to always do the right thing regardless of the cost to ourselves. If it was wrong for the GOP to do things like this (and it was), then it is wrong for the Dems to do it now. Take your childish argument elsewhere.

It just means they have no argument to support the corrupt process. The truth is the demcoms have used the process in a way it has never used before. Yesterday morning one demcom announced the4y did not need any rules they were going to get healthcare past however it takes.

Well, our health care needed an overhaul. Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction.

Our health care system did need reform. This isn't reform.

Sure...lets just ignore legitimate process, the constitution and the national debt along the way. The ends justifies the means.

You may be right, but I am hopeful. I know people who do without health care because they don't make near enough to purchase it, and their employers don't offer it. Maybe it will provide them the care they need.

You are a very naive person. This isn't about getting health care to people that need it, this is about the same things man has always been after - money and power. Witness the way in which this bill was passed. That says it all.

You are a very cynical person. I doubt there is anything this administration could do that you would not find fault with.

Actually there are some things Obama has stated he wants to do that I have supported. For instance, he said when he ran that he wanted to build up infrastructure. That's a great plan, and badly needed. In fact, instead of spending fed dollars on some of the things he has spent it on, I'd rather he worked harder on that. Our infrastructure is in bad shape. Our bridges are falling apart, our roads are in bad shape, our communication lines in certain portions of the country are substandard. I actually support Obama desire to improve this needed area.

You see, I can be objective. I don't hate Obama, I just dislike some things he does, meaning his policies and the way he carries these things out. That said, when he does something right, I give him credit. This health care bill, however, doesn't pass the smell test. It is a horrible bill that needs fixing out of the gate - come on, that's ridiculous. It took back door deals and corruption all over the place to get this thing through. Many, many Americans vehemently opposed it. (by the way, I find it ironic that a man who claimed he would unite Americans has America as divided as ever, maybe moreso)

I'm actually a very upbeat person, but I'm also a realist. This thing stinks and the only people that don't smell it are those who are willfully covering their noses pretending that it is roses and not garbage.

Robert, why do you suppose it is that the tax collections start immediately for this bill - but the services don't really kick in for another four years?

I agree. I think it can be spiritually harmful for a Christian to be overly consumed with politics. Just how vested emotionally should one be with things of this world? There are some Christians I know that I am quite certain spend many more hours listening to political talking heads and complaining about politics than they spend time reading the bible, in prayer, and drawing closer to the Lord. IMHO I think it wise for all Christians to be cautious of politics sirens song.

A Christian is fully vested in politics. To love his neighbor as himself, he must tirelessly oppose oppression in all its forms. To remember them that are in bonds as bound with them, he must tirelessly fight for religious freedom.

You are naive and shortsighted if you don't think they are coming for the church.

To begin preaching the truth of the Gospel communism in all its forms must be denounced from the pulpit.

One could just as easily argue that it is you that is naive.

IMHO if what you are taking away from Matthew 22:39 is that we are to be feverishly involved in politics, you are missing the mark.

While I agree we (Christians) should denounce communism, and vote according to our convictions, sadly I see very little examples of Christ likeness or a good witness of Christ in most political activism.

Let me ask a question. If a person only has a limited time to be productive, would it be more beneficial if he invested that time in politics and successfully convinced 1000 people to turn from a liberal political stance to a conservative one, or use that same time to help lead just one person to Christ?

This is a question every man must answer for himself, AND HIMSELF only; and every man is answerable ONLY to God for his decision.

Who are you to condemn "Joe Public" for his decision to get heavily involved in politics when it just may be God's will for him to do just that???

And in order to clarify a little more about my first pot (post #15). I currently observe many people that aren't involved in politics any form that would bring about any change for the better. Rather they are consumed with listening to talking heads, reading the same, and complaining amongst themselves. Preaching to the choir if you will. My point is that I think it can be spiritually harmful if one finds himself spending a much greater time consuming and focusing on that and spending less time in bible study, and prayer.

In reality I don't see many of these people actually spending their money or time going out and trying to actually bring about any political change. It is more of a perpetual gripe fest than a plan of action.
