Snips from the introduction of an article called:
Evolutionary Creation: A Christian Approach to Evolution [LINK]
    by Denis O. Lamoureux

His book, of the same name is on my (long) list of must reads for those interested in this topic.

This book may not convince you to change your views on the topic but it will clear up some misunderstandings that many of us hold regarding this highly charged topic.

Rob, Many thanks for this post. It just might open a few eyes and especially hearts toward those of us who have embraced Theistic Evolution for many, many years.

    Cheers,

    Jim

you can not define scripture thrugh science, doing so is a compromise, you must define sceince through scripture, othere wise scripture looses it's authority.

Scripture draws its authority from God, the author of our written word and the creator of our physical world.

Trying to integrate what we learn from them neither compromises or reduces God's authority.

The biggest argument against evolutionary creationism? Death. Death is the central factor in evolution yet the Bible says that death entered the world with sin - and sin began in Adam. So how do we reconcile that?

    Support your belief by scripture.

Critically examine those scriptures to see if what you think they say is the only interpretation possible.

See if you can provide a critical critque of your own belief.

Keerful gal!!!! You're gonna cause some ugly responses if you continue to use logic along with scripture.

Ain't gonna set well with the "spiritualizers" of His word!!:godisgood:

Remember with your responses, this is not a debate. This is not a debating forum.

Evolution is a lie and it's more hard to believe professing belivers trying to marry it with the Genesis account.

    Sorry it was moved.

First, if I remember, debates on evolution were not permitted on the BB, and, now we will be subjected to all the garbage generally proposed.

    Cheers,

Years ago, I attended a two day course on evolutionary creationism. As I recall, they claimed that Adam was the first man and that sin began with Adam about 10,000 years ago. Before that, evolution occurred much the same as the evolutionist claim. The "human remains" that have been found before Adam were not really human, but human like beings that were like the animals and had no soul.

It has been awhile, but I think the above basically reflects their position on Adam and sin. Is anyone else familiar with this?

Romans 5 tells us "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin"

Was there death for any other creation than man before Adam sinned?

I've read this somewhere a long time ago, and I never cease to be amazed at the theories that man can whip up to justify science over the Bible.

I wonder what happened to all these "humanoids" if this theory is/was true.

Perhaps they evolved into today's apes, fish, snakes etc!!??:D

Or maybe the same "asteroid" that kept us from knowing the dinosaurs personally got them too??!!;)

I believe God created the universe by speaking it into existence. I would imagine most of the Theistic evolutionists would agree this is an All Powerful God. If our God can do that, then what limits Him from doing it in six literal days?

What "garbage" Jim? The "garbage" that God created the earth, man, and all creation just as it says he did in the Bible? That "garbage"?

The problem is not what the Bible's stance about evolution. It is whether evolution stands by itself as a science.

For the time being, it is not. Evolution at the moment is not yet falsifyable. It is not science at all. It is rather a joke.
