I have not posted anything recently because I have been busy working on a book in support of the Gap Theory (to be released for publication in about two weeks). I am also in the process of producing a video commentary on the same same subject, based on the structure book. Here is a link to a brief (08:31) preview of the first part of the video. Please keep in mind that this is only a prototype of the design of the production. I would greatly appreciate constructive feedback that will enable me to improve the presentation.
    Thank you and God bless.

Do away with the presentation and go back to believing in God's Word, rather than a lie of Satan.

I do not know of any Christian scientist who believes in the gap theory. Today I know of few others who give in credibility to a gap theory. There are no gaps in God. The gap theory is the imagination of early dispensationalist leaders.

First of all, welcome to the BB, worddigger.

I'd gently echo the other replies on this thread. The gap theory is a lie of Satan that never existed Pre-Darwin. It was invented to make the Bible help "prove" evolution. Like all evolutionary theories, it twists the facts to prove the theory. As a scientist, surely you of all people would know that the THEORY should be changed to support the facts, not vice versa.

It seems people have no problem with time as recorded in the rest of the Bible. When it says Joshua marched around Jericho once a day, we believe it without trying to make that day into years. When it says Christ arose on the third day we don't add thousands of years. But somehow, when it comes to Genesis and creation, man cannot or will not accept God's word at face value and believe the evening and the morning were the first day. Please don't continue to allow yourself to be sucked into this lie.

My church's former pastor, the Rev. Jerry Vines, believes in the Gap Theory, but my current pastor does not.

In regards to Jerry Vines, I'd like to see what he does believe exactly. I found this:

    http://www.sermonsearch.com/content.aspx?id=11205

I don't want to pay the 5 dollars to see the rest of the sermon, so I don't know where it is going with it...

Welcome, and don't let the naysayers get you down. I can't do the video so can't give you feedback.

I'm also gap theory--not because I look for a way to accomodate modern science, but because I believe that is what the Bible clearly teaches.

Of course, today, that is no longer politically correct and will get you blasted. Prepare to be told you just refuse to shut up and believe God.

All I can say is I do believe God. I believed the scriptures taught the gap theory before I ever even studied the so called geological ages.

I don't believe God is a liar. Romans tells us people can look to nature and learn about God. So it does make sense that the normal laws of nature would not be at variance with God's Word. And only then can miracles be scene as truly miracles.

So be encouraged and speak the truth whether it is popular or not.

So, let's get this straight...raising someone from the dead defies normal laws of nature, so therefore it is a miracle. The literal creation account defies normal laws of nature, so therefore it is untrue. Way to be consistent there!

Capernicus and Galilleo had to deal with stuff too. Fortunately, none of these people can place you under house arrest for the rest of your life. I don't believe in Gap theory, However, I don't believe youre being "anti-bible" or "Anti-Christian" or "Anti-God" by believing it. People supported a flat earth theory because of the bible. Quoting verses like this
People actually believed at one time that the winds were held back by gates. They also believed in a flat earth based on verses like this
    and
    and
seems to indicate the earth isn't moving so geocentric again. This verse clearly indicates that they didn't beleive the earth was a globe
but a flat disk. As does this verse
    Flat earth again
    and
    and
This is an interesting view of the sky
No wonder it wasn't the jews who discovered flight! Its also interesting to note that the Jews seemed to have the same view as the greeks with ocean in this passage
    and this
So the bible exhibits beliefs of men who can't articulate a more accurate view of their world. So don't feel put off.

Hate to tell you but even the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and the Department of Defense/U.S. Navy still says "sunrise" and "sunset". Saying so doesn't mean that these two highly esteemed organizations believe in the geocentric view of the sun/earth relationship. Just mentioning something from our view doesn't mean that we don't believe in the truth.

Ah but from the many documents of the ancient world we can tell they didn't believe in the truth as things are but as they observed them.

Well then post the ancient documents. Saying "See, they said "sunrise" so they believe the sun revolved around the earth." doesn't cut it since WE do the same thing.

Ah but there is a significance. We use antiquated terms. When the ancients used them they weren't antiquated as yet.

I've made that point before with him, so it won't do any good.

We all speak of the sun moving through the sky and things like this. It's called looking at things from our perspective. I could say that the sun rose at 6:23 A.M. this morning. In absolute terms that statement makes no sense. The sun doesn't rise at all, much less at a particular time. But, in terms of my perspective, it did rise at a particular time. Much is the way we humans, regardless of scientific understanding, speak and write. Thus the bible uses the same phrases, even though there are many verses that point to things then not understood by science.
