Obama, speaking next to (Mexican President) Calderon during Wednesday's state visit, called the tough immigration law a "misdirected expression of frustration over our broken immigration system."

"We're examining any implications especially for civil rights because in the United States of America, no law abiding person -- be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico -- should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like."

If one is an illegal immigrant, then how can one be labeled as a law-abiding person?

That, unless this was a slip of his tongue or a slip of his writer's pen, is the whole issue in a nutshell. Here's the whole link.

It was intentional.

He is pandering for future votes from the current illegal imigrants that he hopes to have voting in time for his next election.

This man needs an understanding on a lot of things. His ignorance makes George Bush look like a genius. He must of been such a buffoon for his schools to not release his transcripts. He ran on an open and transparent platform and even his liberal media pals are beginning to deride him for his failure to have a press conference. The last one being July of 09'. His is a disgrace to the office and a complete failure as a leader. Yet, I still pray that God would deal with his heart and open his eyes to the truth.

He is a total disgrace. He and Clinton are on par in the area of moral integrity, but Clinton was at least smart. I did not like George Bush's policies for turning a conservative campaign into a liberal agenda (although I did vote for him twice), but at least, the man had some integrity. His trip to the army base to see the victims of the mass shooting last year to visit without any media attention is class. Even though it was as an ex-President, one cannot help but be touched by that. Also, Bush must be given credit for his two Supreme Court nominees.

Well, you are a better man than me. I find it extremely hard to pray for the President in office now. You have the right approach, for God to touch his heart and lead us in a Godly direction. In the back of my mind, I always equate prayer for him with praying for the success of his agenda.

It's not if you pray for God to lead him down the right path for this country. "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." God can overrule Obama as He has done to numerous rulers in the past. We need to pray to that end.

How can one call themself law abiding if:

They ever driven faster than the speed limit
They have ever run a top light
If they have ever cheated on their taxes
If they have ever broken any law

Some people habitually speed and run yellow if not red lights.

Do you know of any law abiding person?

Just as everyone has committed a sin everyone has broken a law. This is not to say we should not have good immigration laws and enforce them.

So, just as you, as I, have broken the law at one time or another, we can still be basically law abiding.

Maybe we should all rething what law abiding means.

So...we can't have any immigration laws because someone might have ran a stop sign.

Oooookey-dokey, then. You're entitled to an opinion, even if it doesn't make a lick of sense.

Are you so perfect that you can cast the first stone?

So, does one have to be perfect to express a valid opinion on a law?

What a monumentally ridiculous statement.

Crabby...is there any rule of logic you won't torture so that you can avoid being critical the Obamareidelosi administration?

The difference being that all of your examples are instances - not a continuing offense.

Those who are in this country illegally break the law 24/7.

Are upi saying you are a law breaker only at the moment you violated the law or a sinner only at the moment you sin?

Give it up Crabby.

Someone who is in knowing violation of a law 24/7 cannot by any stretch of the imagination be described as "law abiding".

Obama chose his words to convey the impression that completely innocent people would be hauled off to jail for no reason whatsoever.

He wants to pretend that someone entering the country illegally is not breaking the law - just like you are.

That's right. Then the demcoms can expand their voting base. The illegals are being used for political power and nothing more. It is shameful to even defend it.

No one on the BB is saying what you imply.

Obama chose his words to convey the impression that completely innocent people would be hauled off to jail for no reason whatsoever.

What is your source for this information?

He wants to pretend that someone entering the country illegally is not breaking the law - just like you are.

How do you know this?

Crabby, let's try to bring you back to the topic...

When Obama said, "...no law abiding person -- be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant..." was he correct ?

Is an "illegal immigrant" "law abiding"?

Law abiding illegal immigrant is an oxymoron.

They are breaking immigration laws.

They may be more law abiding in other ways than many legal citizens. My point, as I showd in me first post is that no one is totally law abiding.
Law abiding illegal immigrant is an oxymoron.

Likewise to say that anyone who is over 21 is law abiding is also an oxymoron. Everyone has violated one law or another.

Are you so pure that you can say you have never broken any law?

What's the matter, Crabby?

Bored?

Nothing good on TV?

Your arguments here are void of substance and nothing more than silly.

An illegal alien is not law abiding - no matter how you wish to spin it.

They are breaking the law by entering the country illegally.

They are breaking the law if they are working here.

The list is endless.
