Somali Insurgents: Obama Must Convert

What's amusing to me (in a purely non-amusement sort of way) is that these people don't understand that our president claiming Islam...doesn't make us an Islamic country.

It's a fundamental (pun not intended) misunderstanding. They grow up in a country where religion and politics are one and the same; so they don't understand that simply declaring a religious alignment doesn't equate to becoming an islamic nation.

If Obama were to make the declaration, they would immediately assume that America was now a muslim state, and would get increasingly confused when we don't abide by muslim statutes, and demand more and more adherance with islamic laws.
