MOGADISHU, Somalia -- A leader of Somalia's Islamist insurgency threatened to attack America during a speech broadcast Monday.
"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country," said Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf.​

What's amusing to me (in a purely non-amusement sort of way) is that these people don't understand that our president claiming Islam...doesn't make us an Islamic country.

Perhaps their line of reasonings is that once Obama converts he will put all non-Islam Americans to death?

That is a basic belief for Islamic terrorists isn't it?

It's a fundamental (pun not intended) misunderstanding. They grow up in a country where religion and politics are one and the same; so they don't understand that simply declaring a religious alignment doesn't equate to becoming an islamic nation.

If Obama were to make the declaration, they would immediately assume that America was now a muslim state, and would get increasingly confused when we don't abide by muslim statutes, and demand more and more adherance with islamic laws.

1. obama has already made a defacto pledge of allegiance to islam...
