I DO think, however, that there should be some sort of "pay back" for the teen to receive these services. Whether it be a special program for them to attend to graduate - and help take care of the other babies as well - or some other option, I think that would work well.

My feeling is if we are going to provide these services, they need to be self-supporting. No teachers, or any other resource should be held back from any other student. The mother, and those who wish to provide thise service, must make ALL the sacrifices.

As of 2001, there were 26,407 public secondary schools and 10,693 private secondary schools in the U.S.

That would be 431 public schools out of 26,407 public schools that distribute condoms. That's 1.6%

That means 98.4% of America's public high schools are NOT passing out condoms. As I said, it's the liberal outliers.

I wish those 431 weren't. But I can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I have to support those public schools who don't pass them and who teach reproductive education in it's proper venue and who offer abstinence courses.

By *not* providing *any* assistance or services what you are really saying is that, you've made a mistake, the church is done with you, go see Planned Parenthood!

Mindsets aren't controlled by outside forces. I personally dislike your mindset on some topics, Mandy, but you are a unique person and you have the right to think as you do, regardless of my opinion. I don't like the way billwald expressed himself in that last post, but in no way do I wish to ban him from being honest about what he thinks. Honesty is preferable over lies. It would help nothing to "disallow his mindset" or anyone else's unless they aren't Baptist and thus don't belong on this board, as it is for Baptists. Even weird Baptists.

I understand the sentiment, but the language used on this board rarely is not anything that isn't found in the King James Version of the Bible. I love using that version but do cringe at times when reading some of the words used and some of the ideas expressed and at my children reading them. So I've had to open up somewhat at what I let my kids read in library books and such because how can I defend the mindset of not reading about such things (provided they aren't being glorified) if I allow them to read the Bible?

That is a great idea, but state regulations and concerns about keeping things tax free would more likely scare any church out of taking on such a mission.
