his is the politcally correct feminist version fitting the so-called 'gender neutral'criteria.

Example of changes: "Son of Man" is now "the Human One"
[The point of the title Son of Man is not His humanity but, a la Daniel, an endtimes Redeemer figure with divine qualities]
In 1 John, Jesus is refered to as having "God's DNA"

"The CEB was sponsored by a committee of denominational publishers with representatives from Disciples of Christ, the Episcopal Church of America, the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., the United Church of Christ, and the United Method Church."

Baptists are notably missing from that list. Thank God!

I must say I'm surprised at the Church of Christ inclusion in the effort.

Translators included Dr. Westfall(Conservative Baptist); Dr. Dowd, FBC Decatur(SBC); Dr. Brown(Baptist General Conference); etc.

Just for the record, Dr Dowd is the pastor of Spiritual Formation & Mission Engagement. Both Dowd and the Lead pastor, are female.
Also FBC, Decatur is in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship

Interesting ... so at least two Baptist churches in Decatur, GA have women pastors.

Paul thanked God for the faith of believers, you thank Him for their political correctness.

I thank God for any person, regardless of gender, who takes the message of Christ to others. Never try to limit God, he will not fit our pigeon holes of understanding.

Political correctness is simply a term and can mean anything we want it to mean. I know, I know it is usually used by conservatives when calling those who do not agree with them names. I could accuse you of being concerned with political correctness that fits your understanding ... but it really has no real meaning and adds nothing rational to a discussion. It is simply a polite, left-handed attempt at insult. Won't stick here as I am extremely slow to be insulted.:laugh:

And, after all, I simply said that there are now two churches in Decatur, GA that have women pastors. Is that statement taking a stand?
