This is An Action that Should Be...
....carried out at the local, regional, state and federal government levels. If our elected officials are not going to represent and reflect the best interest of the majority, they should not be in office.
I am so tired of hearing these politicians say that they "are voting their conscience!"
It is their job to vote according to the will of the majority of those who sent them to that office.
If I were in public office, I would be seeking the input and feedback of my constituents, and make. ALL my decisions based upon the will of the majority of those who responded to issues that would affect their community and neighborhoods.
We have gotten away from the traditional standards of "Mr. Smith goes to Washington!" Our leaders need to remember who sent them to that sit in public office, and vote accordingly.
Voting according to their conscience (a political cop out) is not why I voted certain people into office. I voted for them because they had similar principals and ideals that best reflected my ideals, views and visions for the community and my government.
I know no one can be 100% in line with me, or my way of thinking, but they still need to seek the input of their constituents and make sure they present and try to implement that will, even if it is not the popular choice.
This is a great article, and I'm happy to see that some pastors are taking an in depth interest in what their local leaders are doing, and trying to send a message that reflects the will of the majority, not the minority; the influential; the rich; or those who contributed to the funds to help them get in office.
