Wow - That's incredible and to think that here in NY, we just set a record for the wettest month ever. Not just the wettest August but the wettest month since they started keeping records!! I wish we could send you some of what we got on Sunday!! We had 7" and that was one of the lower amounts!
Though I really think this has more to do with naturally occurring weather patterns the drought is really hitting west Texas hard.
The impact on beef prices is going to be significant in about two years. We might see a temporary depression in beef prices because of the flood of beef into the market, but whole herds of cattle are being slaughtered and not replaced because farmers are just having to give up their generations long practice.
I think Texas could use a good hurricane or two in the next couple of months.
