For 24 hours straight, we’ll be joined by some very special guests for bedside interviews, talk via Skype with pastors and friends from around the world, and discuss tantalizing truths about sex as God intended. :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

That was in the local papers a few days ago. I am sure it will play well in the media, but the truth is it is not worth mentioning and the best thing is to distance ones self from this pastor and his antics.

It's embarrassing.

Coupling him with Driscoll's recent disgrace it's really showing the vapidity of evangelicalism in handling a mature conversation about love and marriage.

(sarcasm warning) But hay, Young's church is BIG, and yours is little, so who are your to question? Look how many souls he might be saving by "tantalizing" them.

One circus is as good as another one, as long as a lot of people come see it.

My friend. Young does not have a "church" just a big building with alot of false converts, and those that are being saved are saved by God in spite of his abhorrent teaching

Sex and the married life?

I dismissed Ed Young a long time ago for his beliefs on that. Along with Osteen, Driscoll, Pearl, and a few more for the same reason. Then there's Swaggert, Haggard, and more of their like kind.

I've also dismissed these pastors for more than just their sermons on this topic. Much more.

What kills me about Ed Young and hundreds more like him is that somehow people believe that what comes out of his mouth is the truth because his chromosomes are XY and he stands behind a pulpit.

Being male and wearing pants isn't what qualifies a person to be a preacher. I've listened to men like the above list and more (especially on television) and what comes to my mind every single time is "They will allow jokers like this in the pulpit, but not women. Makes no sense".

I'm not expressing the viewpoint that I WANT women in the pulpit, so let's don't go there, but it's just that there are so many men like these who ARE behind the pulpit and who stand there unworthily and who wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the rear.

I won't be watching Young's bedside sermon.

I didn't watch John Lennon's and Yoko Ono's bedside peace romp, either.

Your disapproval of the gender qualification is with God. You need to tell Him he is wrong not men.

You completely misconstrued what I said. Go back and read it again.

Do you believe that every single man on the planet, by mere possesion of XY chromosomes is eligible to preach?

I don't. Chromosomes are not the biblical qualifications.

Do you think that just because a flawed man has been ordained by flawed human beings that that automatically makes everything that comes from his mouth the truth?

I don't. I believe that there is an biblical accountability in the preaching department that isn't always enforced - hence, the preachers I have listed above.

Like I said you need to take your disapproval with this up with God.

Or maybe you're the one telling God he is wrong.

Hmmm....

Nah - God already gave His opinion in His Word:

1 Timothy 3

Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.

Not only are we speaking of "the husband of one wife", but a MAN who is to keep his children submissive (this is not the wife's role).

Additionally, there are descriptions here that I believe disqualify this sort of teaching/activity that Young is doing. "Respectable" is not what I'd pin on him right now.

Brother, you took that sentence out of context.

My complaint here is not male pastors only. It is unqualified males pastors who speak lies. And flawed human beings, NOT God, who follow these people because the are men.

I don't understand the anger directed towards these men on this issue. Neither are actually engaging in porn. Both are trying to get people to think about, and discuss, sex as God actually intended it. It is not good for the Church to continue to deny that sex has a place in the Christian discussion. We treat it as dirty and taboo when God did give us sex. He gave it to us for many reasons:
unity
pre-creation
guard against sin
pleasure

Maybe if more pastors addressed this boldly and openly from the pulpit we wouldn't be seeing so many of the perversions of the world being found within the Church? Maybe these stunts wouldn't even be necessary?

However, I do think there are ways to discuss it discreetly and ways to not discuss it well. I do not think that the way the topic is handled is discreet in these cases.

Why be discreet? When was the last time Song of Solomon was preached openly and clearly? Why do we avoid it? Because we think we need to be discreet and hide one the of the best things God gave us this side of heaven. Within the bounds of marriage sex can be enjoyed fully, honestly, and glorify God. It can be an act of worship.
