It's do or die, IMO! Our church is hosting it so I'm going to be there for the before lunch stuff but then I have an orthopedist appointment at 2 eastern time so I'll have to leave after that but I'm sure they will get the truth out of Jakes before that. I'd guess this is a bunch that will be able to stop the dance.

And here is where he denies the Scriptural Trinity:
    He is a modalist

That is exactly what my take on his definition of God. He does not say that The Holy Spirit is God or a Person. He does not use the term "Person" to describe the Father or the Spirit. He simply says that God exists in three "manifestations."

There is no guessing or doubt on this one. He is clearly denying the Trinity.

Some members of the Calvinist fraternity 'The Gospel Coalition' are just beside themselves that their Brethren are playing host to T. D. Jakes:

Elephant Room host James MacDonald just announced that he has resigned from 'The Gospel Coalition' board:

We're not. He's one of the men participating in The Elephant Room. We're just one of the satellite sites for the program.

It will - and it will be for sale later just as the first Elephant Room was.

    Nope.

    Woah!!!!!! :tear:

If MacDonald was the reason that TD jakes was brought in then he should resign. As a black man I see the state many "black" churches are in because of men like Creflo Dollar, Jakes etc... It hurts my heart and betrayed that they would allow Jakes in. All it did was cause more confusion.

....and what's an elephant room? We don't have one at my church (but as I don't know what it is, I suppose there's a possibility that we do  ).

It's something that was done last year for the first time. I think it was eight well known evangelical pastors getting together and discussing some differences they have (last year they discussed church policy, multi campuses, responding to culture, social jUstice and compassion and that sort of thing). It was interesting and well done - kind of a kind Baptist Board meeting over coffee. But it was orthodox evangelicals meeting. This year they invited TD Jakes who has been known to be a moralist and thus has stirred quite a bit of controversy. It seems the original purpose of The Elephant Room changed after this invitation and those who were involved last year distanced themselves this year. I do believe that this was a mistake to invite Jakes and I wonder what James is thinking. I guess we will see what happens today. I want to go but I decided that I really have better use for my time today with staying home with the kids and homeschooling and trying to get some things done. My husband will let me know how it goes since he's the guy running all the equipment anyway so he is there. :). But I have to say that with Mark Driscoll there, we will most certainly get a clear answer as to what Jakes believes today. No dancing around him!

Hopefully he was invited that he might be convinced to repent of his heresy. Hopefully he was not invited to consider his heresy and allow him a format to promote it. They better be well prepared to rebuke him or it will look like they are accepting his heresy as a non-essential.

Kent Shaw, an Elder at MacDonald's Harvest Christian Fellowship, explains what went down between Calvinist fraternity 'The Gospel Coalition' factions:
