This is a well-reasoned dissertation and I find myself in agreement with it in its entirety. There is absolutely nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to disagree with.

While the OP is a fine example of thoughtful theology, I do wonder if that last period was just a bit too extravagant? Only liberals use that many periods...

While I don't disagree with the OP, I feel that for brevity's sake, he didn't have to repeat himself so much.

Tom, you really did it this time. The second dot meant open communion, the third dot meant being a member of the universal church, the fourth dot means Arminian, and the rest, sorry to tell you, you just subscribed to sprinkling.

No silly, the first dot advocated drinking alcohol behind the pulpit, while dancing. The second dot was concerning women who cut their hair, and wore pants, will go to hell(if they wear shorts, there's a deeper compartment there for them). The third dot spoke about how if you don't get the "holy Ghost baptism" and speak in tongues, sprawl out on the floor(slain in the Spirit), then you're not saved. The remaining ones were jibberish, and I have no idea how you came to those conclusions of yours. You really need to study your dots better.

If you will send me three payments of $299.95, I will send you "Fletcher's Connect-the-Dots System; how to REALLY connect them". The others are phonies, and mine is the only real deal. Often imitated, never duplicated.

I believe if you look deeper into it you'll see that it's a form of binary.

Here's the same offer to you, Bro. Tom, that I offered Bro. SN. You really need to study your dots more before agreeing with them. You were agreeing with complete heresy, and apparently didn't even know it.

I absolutely and vehemently disagree with everything that was discussed in the very lengthy diatribe that the OP has tried to shove down our throats!!!! The more the OP went on, the more he has proven without any shadow of doubt that he is an demonic heretic who needs to be immediately and permanently banned from the BB!!

Moderators, do your duty in this case!!

Some of you folks are reading this fine dissertation all wrong. You are absorbed by that which you see, even to commenting on the number. Folks, it is not what you see but what you can't see.

    *******************************************************************

I could base this conclusion on the continuing physics research in Vacuums!

    THE ENERGY IN THE VACUUM

Then, late in the 19th century, it was realised that the vacuum could still contain heat or thermal radiation. If our container with the vacuum is now perfectly insulated so no heat can get in or out, and if it is then cooled to absolute zero, all thermal radiation will have been removed. Does a complete vacuum now exist within the container? Surprisingly, this is not the case. Both theory and experiment show that this vacuum still contains measurable energy. This energy is called the zero-point energy (ZPE) because it exists even at absolute zero.

    /SNIP/

The magnitude of the ZPE is truly large. It is usually quoted in terms of energy per unit of volume, which is referred to as energy density. Well-known physicist Richard Feynman and others [3] have pointed out that the amount of ZPE in one cubic centimetre of the vacuum "is greater than the energy density in an atomic nucleus" [4]. Indeed, it has been stated that [5]: "Formally, physicists attribute an infinite amount of energy to this background. But, even when they impose appropriate cutoffs at high frequency, they estimate conservatively that the zero-point density is comparable to the energy density inside an atomic nucleus." In an atomic nucleus alone, the energy density is of the order of 1044 ergs per cubic centimetre. (An erg is defined as "the energy expended or work done when a mass of 1 gram undergoes an acceleration of 1 centimetre per second per second over a distance of 1 centimetre.")

Estimates of the energy density of the ZPE therefore range from at least 1044 ergs per cubic centimetre up to infinity. For example, Jon Noring made the statement that "Quantum Mechanics predicts the energy density [of the ZPE] is on the order of an incomprehensible 1098 ergs per cubic centimetre." Prigogine and Stengers also analysed the situation and provided estimates of the size of the ZPE ranging from 10100 ergs per cubic centimetre up to infinity. In case this is dismissed as fanciful, Stephen M. Barnett from the University of Oxford, writing in Nature (March 22, 1990, p.289), stated: "The mysterious nature of the vacuum [is] revealed by quantum electrodynamics. It is not an empty nothing, but contains randomly fluctuating electromagnetic fields with an infinite zero-point energy." In actual practice, recent work suggests there may be an upper limit for the estimation of the ZPE at about 10114 ergs per cubic centimetre (this upper limit is imposed by the Planck length, as discussed below).

    ***************************************************************

However, that would be totally inappropriate on this Forum of Baptist Theology, hopefully Bible based. I have pointed out elsewhere the hazard of going where Scripture does not! So I am going to tell you for free how to get the blessing presented in the OP.

Now the following is a true story so pay attention!

BacK in olden times I taught a SS class. One Sunday this old gentleman, a retired pastor, joined the class. Early on he made the following observation: "Sometimes there is more contained between the lines [of Scripture] than you read.", or words to that effect.

My initial thought was: "I have got a real liberal in this class." Turns out this fine old Saint was Arminian and dispensational. He went on to be with the Lord at the age of 90 or so, but I digress.

I believe I came to understand what this old Saint meant by his statement above, thusly.

There are many passages of Scripture, that taken in the context of chapter, book, and Bible, tell us much more than the printed word. I believe I could present several such but that would simply cause debate and I don't believe that is the purpose of the OP.

    **********************************************************

Now recall that I have given you a true story. Don't get wrapped up in what you see in the OP. Don't even worry about the number of words though why 10 instead of 7 is a good mental exercise.

First, brothers and sisters, you have to look at the OP in context, context, context. Then and only then, you can, you must, look at the message contained between the lines [rather dots] again understanding the context in which they are presented. Now unlike one mercenary on this Board I offer the above free of charge and it is not often a Southern Baptist won't pass the plate.

Well, we were going our merry way, trashing each other over substantive issues, until you started it.

You're the one who brought it up.

Incidentally, since we have some disagreement over the interpretation of the dots, could you clear things up? Did I really unknowingly agree with sprinkling? I can't believe that second dot is OPEN Communion. I could have sworn it said CLOSED communion.

Old Regular quoted Barry Setterfield's writing in his post. I thought Barry did a good job exegeting your dots.

I think we should bring up a resolution at the next SBC meeting to form a committee and spend one million dollars studying the spiritual nature of dots.

I think the ability to interpret the dots is a spiritual gift, and only those who have it can effectlvely interpret. I believe I am the only one here who has such a gift. Well, maybe Herald has it, since he originated the dots. He ought to know what he's saying. Or what he intended to say. Or what he changed his mind about saying.

In other words, the dots are inspired in spots and I am inspired to spot the dots.
