Former auto czar Steven Rattner (also known as “Ratty”) has penned a piece in the New York Times that once again shows scoreboard for the healthcare legislation’s detractors. As the pensions fraud racketeer opined:

WE need death panels. Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.

How can anyone NOT see the parallels between this and Nazi Germany during WWII?

If we take the time to read the NYTimes piece (which is terrible) we see that he isn't pointing out that there are so-called "death panels" but simply they we need oversight to limit spending. Basically, and he's got no grounds to say this, he is worried the rising costs of Medicare will destroy the budget.

Now, a couple of things: a) he's not an employee of the current administration (just google his name and you'll find out why) b) as a result he isn't actually speaking for the administration and c) he isn't saying there are death panels in the ACA.

So, you've got a bad title in the OP and a misleading piece by the NYTimes commentator. How the Romney campaign isn't running with this, I don't understand. More reason why he won't/can't win.

He used the word death panels and no one said he was currently working for the admin in fact the title makes it clear he is not.

    Is this a typo?

You think that there are no grounds for being worried that rising costs of Medicare will destroy the budget?

BTW - what budget? There is no budget - hasn't been since Obama took office.

My point is that he, the author of the NYTimes article, isn't qualified to say what he is saying with such assumed authority. I doubt heavily he has seen the latest budget scoring from the CBO or projections from HHS. He's making up an argument based on speculative information. Additionally, he's not a government official so he really had no ground or authority for making any of these claims. :)

He is a former Obama czar, he did formerly work within the admin. You are welcome to not hold him credible but that is your opinion. We know that Obama has a habit of having hidden agenda's. You may not want it to be true but that does not change the reality.

Anyone giving this any real consideration at all would have to ask why he used that phrase to being with.

Of course there are death panels. We've had them for a very long time. One prime example is the committees that are tasked with organ donor issues. They decide who is on the list and where they are placed on the list and who gets moved up the list. Another example is politicians and bureaucrats deciding what medication is or is not allowed to be prescribed. The VA is bad for this, but getting better. Another example is the FDA and DEA keeping medication out of the hands of suffering patients.

This is not a new issue, it has simply become a bigger issue thanks to Obama's taking over of this industry.

With a national debt of over 16 TRILION dollars and counting and with the Medicare Trustees saying that the program will be INSOLVENT in 2016...

One needs to be a government offical in order to be qualified to worry about rising Medicare costs busting the budget?

    Really?
