I saw this on television. All I could think of was that humanity is on the brink of becoming totally brain-dead.

I don't think there's a strong enough word - for me anyways - to express how stupid this is.

Just for fun, I know a guy who owns a Bagel & Sandwich Shop and also owns a few horses that he feeds bagels. Why not invite these people out to the stable & bring some popcorn for the show...:laugh:

ITL, I work in a pretty big public city school.

There's not a lot I haven't heard about.

Though there's a lot I WISH I hadn't heard about! :eek:

There's a reason I take all the blue jolly ranchers out of the bag when I take candy in, why I can smell spice walking towards me a mile away, why I carry zip ties, why I tell the kids not to be sag, and why I feel that everyone from the janitor to the bus drivers to the administrator cannot ever, Ever, EVER be called over-paid!

And no, I'm NOT going to type that into my search engine! :laugh: I can just imagine what would happen if I ever was falsely accuses of a crime and they searched my computer and saw THAT on there! Instant assumption of guilt. No pun intended in the previous sentence. :saint:

What on earth is WRONG with these people? It's not enough that people deface themselves with tattoos, body piercings, insane hairstyles. . .now they do this?

Body modification is getting pretty insane. I saw some links attached to that story and one is about naval removal. People are actually having their belly buttons altered to try to make it look as if they don't have one...and other parts you don't want to hear about!

People get horns implanted, their tongues slit in half to look like snake, some go through deep cuts in order to get what they perceive to be cool looking scars (they look like deformities to me!) and lots of other crazy things. Some of them no longer look human.

At the last nursing home I worked at, the administration had to ban a worker's boyfriend because the residents would scream and cry when they saw him because he looked like a demon, thanks to his piercings and alterations.

I haven't noticed a ton of that in this state. It's a lot more common to see in the Cali/OR area. Maybe in others, but those are where I saw them the most.

Gina...More and more we are seeing the worsening results of several generations of people (both young and old) that have had the entire concept of SIN, as defined by God's Holy Bible, removed from their consciences. It is tragic. Most of these people who literally and physically "deface" themselves will never even consider that there is any other way to live. The saddest thing is...they look at us and say WE are the fanatics. Satan has certainly done a good job of blinding people to the truth....and WE have done a generally terrible job of spreading it. (I indict myself in that regard).:tear: I fear there will be many whose blood I will have on my own hands.

OldTimer is right - I was wrong. It's not a thing implanted - it's the saline injected under the skin then dimpled.

Young people are using a saline drip to inject fluid into their foreheads. This stretches the skin and produces a circular raised mound. They then use a finger to make a depression in the center of the mound. The end result looks like they have a bagel under the skin. Effect lasts until the solution is absorbed into their bodies.

I wonder how many of these will need plastic surgery in a few years to keep the sagging skin from their foreheads out of their eyes? Premise is the same as it is for many obese people who lose a lot of weight. There's stretched, leftover skin, that doesn't shrink when the fat beneath it disappears. For excess skin under the arms, below the stomach, around the thighs, etc. clothing can hide it. How can anyone hid the negative effects of what they've done to their face?

This is just the physical aspects. There's much to be said about things being done to glorify "self" these days.
