Obama Didn't Appear Presidential Last Night

I didn't watch the debate (better things to do) but did review some clips and read up on some commentaries regarding it.

What is interesting is that President Obama's conduct and talking points are essentially what his entire campaign has been about: 1) I haven't gotten things done so 2) I need more time and 3) just remember the Clinton presidency.

I mean that is what he's been saying. My mind is still blown as to why Romney has opened up a ten point lead...but we'll see what happens.

Debates can have an influence on the one constituency that matters, the truly undecided. They can also encourage your base to either go and vote or stay home. Should be curious to see what happens in the next two.

BTW: I absolutely miss Admiral Stockdale.

I started this thread with Crabtownboy in mind. His favorite accusation of eminently qualified conservatives is that (in his feeble mind) one or the other doesn't appear presidential.

Obama has never appeared presidential to me. Arrogant, yes. A community organizer, yes. Never presidential.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, not only was presidential in the debate, but projected himself as the CEO that he is, which is what this country needs.

I gotta tell you, I was shocked by how poorly Obama did last night. All his supporters and especially the media are shocked. He wasn't his normal self.

I have gone back and watched the debate several times on YouTube. I believe Obama was AFRAID of Romney, I really do. Obama has been pampered and praised by everyone around him, and to a great degree he believes his own hype, but I think Romney is just too much for him. He senses that Romney is a real man. Deep down he knows he cannot hang with Romney.

Obama is what we surfers used to call a "townie" or a "poser". He walks around with a board, but he don't know how to ride.

Out in our neck of the woods it is called "he's all hat".

Doesn't his routine protrayal of "normal self" include a teleprompter?

It's been interesting to see some of the media trying to find ways to put a positive spin the debate results. That's kinda hard to do when there's more than an edited 10 second sound bite involved.

Out of everything he said all they can focus on is Big Bird and work to create a lie that he wants to kill Big Bird.

Apparently they have nothing of real substance to speak to.

Oh so true! BO does NOT have a firm grasp on the issues...it gets displayed time & time again like on the debate with Romney....& frankly its scary to think that we had him for 4 years & he will go blundering through another 4 years unless he is stopped. Honestly, the country can not withstand him as president for another 4.

Well, here is the hat he showed up to the debate wearing.
