I was only using your logic. Obviously you do not support Obama. Now, unless you do not vote, which is worse than voting, you must support those opposing him. Thus, you are supporting the death of children, the poor and elderly by denying them food, medical care and other services.
Do not use faulty logic unless you want the same logic used on you.
And, yes you were being very self-righteous.
So, what are your thoughts on the thread topic, voter fraud?
By the way, this afternoon I am leaving for Scotland and will be out of touch until early November.
You don't get to draw out information about my political leanings and then try to counterattack me with it. You are responsible for the actions of those you empower, as am I.
I believe your comparison is false. For example, you are assuming that voting for any candidate other than Mr Obama is "supporting the death of children, the poor and elderly by denying them food, medical care and other services." Other candidates, and not just Romney, have plans for these services as well. You might not like their plans as much as the president's, but we are not going to see mass deaths of the people you mentioned no matter who wins the election. We will definitely see continued mass deaths of children if Mr Obama is reelected, and further, if he is allowed to pick a Supreme Court Justice. The life of a human being does not compare to the inconvenience of another. We would all like to see the needy given help to improve their lives, and ideally, help to become independent. But we are talking about a holocaust here, the slaughter of over a million children each year, just in this country alone. Even if the elderly or disabled, such as myself, have to do with (even) less, which isn't necessarily the case, it is worth it to save the lives of children.
The Lord said we will always have the poor with us, and of course it is our duty to help them. But we are talking about very different levels of need, and very different levels of evil.
My righteousness does not come from myself; I have none of my own. It comes from Christ alone.
To answer your question, voter fraud has long troubled me. I know of no way to be sure our votes are applied to the candidates we choose, much less that only citzens are allowed to vote, that repeat voting and registration of the dead, etc, doesn't happen. It is sad that we have to rely on the enmity of the two parties to keep each other in check on this issue. But I keep hearing very suspicious stories, such as a state sending out early voting forms to our servicemen and women too late for them to be returned on time, thus eliminating a large group of people from having their voices heard. It becomes more suspicious when this group heavily favors one candidate, while the the party in power and responsible for getting those forms out supports another.
Enjoy your trip. I'll try to remember to check back to see if this thread is active in a week or two.
