I didn't read your link - but I didn't have very nice things to say about General Petraeus in another thread.

I take it all back, I finally put 2 and 2 together - the man may prove to be a real patriot - with him stepping down from his political post, even amid the big scandal, NOW he is free to testify before Congress once again without any political constraints and maybe now, HE WILL SPILL THE BEANS!!! If so, he will have proven himself to be a true patriot for our Nation!!

I don't believe when he testified the first time he was forthcoming with any real information, but he still held his political post at the time.

Now he is free to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! :thumbs:

Sadly, given his position and the events in Lybia the situation has grown exponentially complex. Instead of a private family matter we have politics.

Basic rule of security clearances: Do not get into situatations where your conduct can be used to extort and blackmail causing a compromise of national security. Such applies to the O-10 and the E-1. It also applies to the ranks of the GS. There are many facets of espionage.

This situation also raises havoc with the morale of the troops.

There is something rotten--and it ain't from Denmark.

This is another example of amorality in high places.
