Liberals Shun Opposing Views Because They're Used to Controlling the Media

More and more, Fox News's left-leaning contributor Kirsten Powers is becoming a must-see analyst on the network.

Appearing on The O'Reilly Factor Wednesday, Powers said, "I think liberals because they are so used to controlling all the media...when they hear things that don't jibe with what they want to hear, it's very disconcerting and unsettling"

I do not believe this is restricted to any one group, be they liberal or conservative.

Both sides do it, of course; but as to who has more control of the media, which side plays Goliath to the other's David?

I guess that is subjective also. It depends on a person's definition or understanding of "conservative" and "liberal". Seriously I feel there are some commentators who are considered by most to be conservative are liberal in that they play very fast and loose with the truth ... and the same is true of some commentators who are called liberal.

Then there are some like Stephen Colbert and John Stewart who present themselves as sitarists, Stewart being liberal and Colbert a conservative, who IMHO often are more informative than others who want us to believe they are "serious" commentators.

Who really has control of the media? I have asked myself that for many years and I do not have an answer. In the summer of 1973 there was great unrest in Chile. I was in Brazil and the news was filled with reports coming out of Chile and it was acknowledged that Allende's days are president were numbered. I returned to the States and was very interested in following the events in Chile. But to my surprise there was absolutely nothing in the news about the unrest there. Then when Allende was overthrown and killed both the government and the media in the States expressed great surprise. Both said there was no indication of his being overthrown. I knew better. That made me wonder, and I have wondered since, who is it that really controls the news here? As I said, I do not have an answer for that.

"rational" means talking out of both sides of your mouth, and standing for nothing, apparently.

The fact that the mainstream media is radically liberal belies this statement.

Who came up with the idea of "hate speech?"

Who came up with the idea of the "fairness doctrine?"

All with the intent and effect of limiting opposition speech and press. Conservatism has logic and liberty on its side. Liberals can only gain power through sedition.

Ya know I wondered the same thing. So I looked into it. Took all of five seconds.

One Correction on Your Thought Rev...

"I think liberals because they are so used to controlling all the media..."

It is my opinion that the liberals completely CONTROL the media [except for the exception of Fox News] now, and their smug attitude is glaringly evident in everything from news shows, to talk shows, to sitcoms, to dramas, to talk shows, to late-night TV, to children's programming.

I am personally tired of watching television where the writers, directors and actors/hosts are speaking their egotistic praise for the liberal agenda!

IMHO this is why there is o much division in this nation. The media has taken sides with Obama and the general populace that does not care for the liberal agenda of gay rights, gay marriage, amnesty, abortion, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, drugs; crass and foul jokes and humor are tuning out and turning off.

The liberal agenda is literally being shoved down our throat's day and night, and "Enough is enough!" :BangHead:

When Bush was in office, the church and its values and Biblical world view were never brought front and center and forced down the throats of the liberals or those in society who follow Satan, witches, self, hate, hedonistic/narcissistic ways.
