...with the fact that students can't pray to God in most schools today, what gives with this latest policy allowing Muslim children, with good grades, the right to pray five times a day to Allah?

After all, our right to pray to our God was legally removed from schools a long time ago, but, now some districts [especially in Maryland] are making special considerations for Muslims to pray several times a day. Do you think this will become a major talking point for the media, and in state and federal government office that worked hard to separate church and state in public schools?

More importantly, will we see the ACLU get involved like they did when they pushed to remove prayer from school?

Well, what say you? :type:

Just to clarify - is it students cannot pray in school - or is it there can not be teacher led prayers in school.

Now, the Muslims - when are the 5 times they need to pray- only 1 must be done during the school day - and that can be postponed until later.

If they want to pray in school - that fine, unless it interrupts school classes. If it does become a problem - they can set up their own school.

This. I've never seen a situation where students were not allowed to pray at all in public schools.

Students are allowed to pray in public schools. What isn't allowed is requiring students to pray or teacher-led prayers.
