I would like to say "unbelievable" but not with our liberal media. I was watching MSNBC tonight to see if they blamed Bush or right wingers. I'm sure they will somehow. They do say, don't waste a tragedy.

In the article in your link I see the phrase "right wing extremists" not simply "right wing".

There's a vastly different meaning in those two phrases. Another example of people seeing what they want to see and not what is actually there.

The word "extremists" has been used to characterize every day Tea Party members. We all know what they means when they use it.

The left-wingers are the ones who say, "Don't judge", but all they do is judge. They are the ones who say, "It's despicable to use tragedies for political purposes", but they're the first ones who do just that.

It was a failure of the intelligence community. Somehow they missed it ... the same as 9/11 ... even though they had known for several years the terrorists were planning some type of attack within the boarders of the US.

We all hear where there is an intelligence failure ... it make headlines. We do not hear about the numerous times they prevent an attack as they cannot talk about it without compromising programs, plans, informants and putting the lives of people overseas in danger.

The intelligence community is working overtime trying to uncover those responsible for the Boston attack. It will take time. Be patient and understanding.

Read George Tenet's book, At the Center of the Storm: My Years at the CIA

Pray for the victims and families.

By roughly 4 PM yesterday, speculation was running on ABC that may have been "right wingers". To my knowledge not a shred of evidence to indicate the identity of the bomber(s). Yet, they were busy pointing fingers with their SPECULATIONS.

Yes................ NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE.

I turned the tv on after someone told me about the bombing. I would have been better off to have left it off.

May God have mercy on us all. :praying:

I'm NOT OK with it. However, it goes to the point "It's despicable to use tragedies for political purposes", which is precisely what the Republicans and the right-wing news media did with the tragedy.

My point is that both sides use tragedies for political purposes.

Reminds me of the early speculation that quickly spread about when JFK was shot in 1963. Dallas was supposedly a right-leaning city, therefore, some right-winger must have been the shooter.

Yeah, you might want to brush up on the meaning of "tu quoque". Especially in the context of my saying that both sides are guilty of exploiting tragedies for political purposes.

I've seen this stuff posted on Facebook, but I don't see this as "blaming" the "right wing"; they're only mentioning another possible group, and besides the Islamists, the group that did the most domestic destruction was a far right extremist. (With the evidence being McVeigh's attack on the same day--Patriot's Day!) Hence they are next on the suspicion list. (It's not like they're denying it could be Islamists or whoever else we may think).
So it could be Islamists, it could be extreme right. No one is being "blamed" yet.

What's strange to me is that it's gone this long without them having any clue as to who it is. I haven't even heard of any claiming responsibility, which usually happens.
In both 9-11 and Oklahoma City, it was known fairly quickly.

Back to the opening post: anyone seen what those guys are saying now that it's come out that the suspects were islamists?

General impession from ABC is there's heavy reporting by those who say it couldn't have been those two sons. (Haven't had time to watch much news the last few days.)

So you are saying law enforcement had some advance notice of the bombing and did nothing?

Under todays standing, some say JFK may actually would have been a conservative

Actually Mcveigh and Islamists are extreme right. And yes the Tea Party is on the right.

But how far to the right?

An analogy would be deciding to buy "Family Size" or "Giant Size" - which one is bigger?

Likewise, when someone talks about the far right - ask them to explain what it means.
According to this link the far right "is applied to fascists and neo-Nazis and major elements of fascism have been deemed clearly far right, such as its belief that supposedly superior people have the right to dominate society while purging allegedly inferior elements"
Could even a liberal say that Rush, Glenn Beck or the Tea Party really want purge inferior people? (Insisting everyone pull their weight is not purging)
