I see the Holy Spirit also upon certain people in the OT! But what I see different in the NT is that it is available to ALL believers...not just certain ones!
The church is still here! THe manifestations of the Holy Spirit was given to the church! I do not see where and for what reason God would take that away from the church! He gave the Holy Spirit and He will never leave us or forsake us! The manifestations are for edification, exhortation and comfort! Why would he take that away?

THey are still here! Yes, there are false out there but that does not disprove the real! The word does not back up your theory of ceasing until WE SEE FACE TO FACE AND KNOW AS WE ARE KNOWN!

Are the tongues a sign of one having the "baptism in the HG?"

Are all suppossed to speak in tongues?

! Cor 12:28-30 clearly said NOT all have them, andthe ones that did were because the HS decided they were too!

    What practical good are they?

How many times do you want me to answer this? As long as you do not believe they are for today...none of those answers should matter to you...because you are not going to change what you believe concerning them. Read Acts 2, 8, 10 and 19; 1 Cor. 12-14...That should answer your questions!

You keep referring to passages that atr transistional, so can you show us where that for today in the church tongues are from God, and what specific purpose they have for now?

If you are going to throw the whole book of Acts out to prove your theory...I have no doubt you would also throw out anything from scriptures that I share. I have already shown you in 1 Cor. that tongues is speaking to God/praying in the spirit/blessing with the spirit.....you and others will not receive it! So therefore you will never really know the benefits!

I once spoke in more tongues than you, prophesied more than you, but once the HS showed me in the Bible that was NOT Him but something else going on...

Now i am MUCH better position to experience the truth of the "blessings", as now obeying scriptures!

How do you know how much I pray in the spirit...or prophesy?
You obey only certain scriptures and ignore others...like the book of Acts and 1 Cor. 12-14.

You ignore what the Book of Acts teaches, too, because what you believe, it does not teach, as has been shown to you many times.

I have shown you many times also! But you can believe the way you want! You have yet to show me where in scriptures they were baptized in the Holy Spirit and did not speak in tongues! Not filled...but baptized!

Where does the bible command us to be Baptized by the HS today?

Where outside of acts were there tongues shown andsaid to be there when one got saved?

Wasn't the truth that outside of Acts, the ONLY Gift of tongues was of a revelatory nature, to be used in local churches?

that thsoe tongues not needed or in use today, no personal prayertongues, so no more tongues period?

Why do I have to answer your question over and over? Do you not remember my answer the last time you ask this?

Again...I have said over and over tongues has nothing to do with salvation...you can have the indwelling Holy Spirit and not speak in tongues!

Can you show me that in scripture? 1 Cor. says tongues is speaking to God/praying in the spirit/ blessing with the spirit.

Have you seen Him face to face? Do you know as you are known?

"But beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him: for we shall she him as he is"

"Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus"

I just showed you in another thread, and I've shown you previously, also. But you have selective memory.

Your doctrine is false. It is not supported by the NT.

Anybody as obsessed and fixated on tongues as you are has serious problems.

what do tongues do for you?

When they operate in your church, is that a revelation same as the bible to you?

Tongues with the interpretation is edifying to the body just like when you hear someone pray to God in prayer in English!

    Here is the OP
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weoA3cLMnUY

I went near to the end of the link.

Here is a quote: "If you don't pray in tongues your life will be jeopardy."

What does that mean. All of us are condemned to hell because we have not spoken in tongues??
This is what the OP is all about. This is the kind of people you are associated with and this is the doctrine you are pushing. If you want to get back to the OP, there it is.

NO! I did not watch the link! I was just replying to those that posted! I have no idea what he was speaking of... I do not believe that our life will be in jeopardy if we do not speak in tongues.
My association is with my church that does believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit! We do not deny the power of the Holy Spirit!

My church believes in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and we do not deny the power of the Holy Spirit. When you define those terms as a HS baptism separate from conversion and evidenced by tongues, you insult and demean all other Christians.

Charismatic doctrine is an elitist, exclusivist, arrogant, proud, false doctrine.
