    There are a half dozen or more Republican Governors who would be able to handle the job of president. Perry could certainly do it. I also like:

    Scott Walker of Wisconsin;

    that fat governor of NJ, Chris Christie;

    Governor Kasich of Ohio;

    Mike Pence of Indiana;

    Jindal of Louisiana;

    Mary Falin of Oklahoma.

    These are not necessarily in any order but I believe Walker of Wisconsin has done a fantastic job in a liberal state. I also believe John Kasich understands well the necessity of an industrial nation and a robust middle class. Didn't mention Snyder of Michigan but he pulled off a near miracle getting a right to work law passed. Brewer of Arizona is pretty tough but she may have rubbed Obama's nose in it too often.

    Whoever is president he will have to make some really tough decisions in the years ahead and not every man or woman is equipped to do that!!

    I kinda like Walker myself, but beware of Chris Christy. The old Republican Speaker of the house for NJ, Chuck Hytian (from my town & a friend) knows him real well & helped support him in his early days. To Chuck, a Christy presidency would spell disaster to the nation.....I will leave it there.

    Governors in Texas don't have a lot of power and the alternatives have been pathetic.

    That being said, over the last 14 years, he has on numerous occasions, revealed himself not to be as conservative on some issues as he would have us believe.

    Christie is doing the same thing.

    Personally, I like Perry and supported him in 2012. As for Gov. Pence of Indiana, he is tied down by tax problems here in Indiana (they are too high) and by the War on Coal, which affects Indiana perhaps more than any other state. He needs to be Governor of Indiana and solve our problems.

    I still like Perry until someone tells me what is wrong with him.

    What is the matter with him, carpro? Is it the way he performed in the debates last presidential election year? Is it the in-state tuition thing for illegal aliens? Is it the fact that he used to be a Democrat years ago?

    Bothers me when a native doesn't want anything to do with him.

    Talk is cheap. He is a leech that sucks the tax payer dry so he can live high on the hog at one point for years living in a rental that cost the people 10,000 dollars a month rent. He has done little to nothing for Texas since he has been in office except to run up large tabs.
    We not only have sanctuary cities under his watch, but we have water problems, school problems, illegal problems and much more.
    I would remind everyone that he is the Gov. that signed into law to give 100,000 dollars of tax money free to illegal children to attend college but the children of the people of Texas gets nothing from the bill. I would never vote for him.

    Scott Walker neocon

    Chris Christie neocon

    Governor Kasich neocon - on the surface doesn't appear to be

    Mike Pence neocon - probably

    Jindal neocon

    Mary Fallin neocon

    AFTER BUSH/CHENEY NO RINO NEOCON WILL EVER GET MY VOTE AGAIN. A NEOCON IS JUST AS DETESTABLE AS A LIBERAL.

    Well they all love him in Wisconsin.
    this guys nothing more than a big fat extortionist & he has been on the take since getting elected. PM me & I will fill you in (I live in NJ)

    Im in agreement here. However Texas appears from an outsiders view to be run better........and I wanted to know if Rick Perry has anything to do with it.

    I will tell you one thing......if Clinton is elected I will move to South America.

    So, have you been browsing around where you might go?

    Actually, after the Billary administration was gifted with two Republican legislatures in 94 it moved quite nicely to the center.

    Toss up between Honduras & Ecuador. And so you think Clinton would of sustained a good economy? In any event, Clinton will ICE us English speaking residents to learn Spanish.

    ...ah, I could think of worse things than her with Republican legislatures, a lot worse, mainly neocon straight across the board, then I might think about moving to Israel.

    I hear some survivalist type preppers are attracted to Chile, not sure why. Peru is a place I'd like to check out (I love Peruvian food, especially their ceviche).

    No need to go that far. Belize -- English-speaking, cheap land, fewer Marxists. :laugh:

    Unless you're situated close to the coast to catch the breeze, Belize is stifling hot humid jungle. Lots & lots of insects, bookoo bugs. No wonder Guatemala let the pirates have it.
