I have a sister living on the Oregon Coast. She says the radiation has already arrived.

Now what? But stock in personal Geiger counters.

The key phrase in your linked story: "The levels of expected radiation are likely to be so small that it won’t negatively impact human health, according to the California Department of Public Health."

    My reaction? **Yawn** "So what?"

No, the key phrase is "according to the California Department of Public Health."

Don't expect the truth from a goverment entity. THey know they know they can do nothing about it and any effects take time so this would be a standard answer instaed of telling the truth.

Why would the government lie to us about this?

To keep pressure of this administration. If the truth wwere known many people would want to get away from this and possibly move. That would cause economic problems in certain areas.
This will not cause sudden problems, but over time an increase in cancer is a very plausable event. Make it seem like it is no big thing for now and keep people calm.

Three years later, having been floating in the Pacific Ocean? No. There's no danger here. We are exposed to more background radiation from the Sun every day than will wash up on West Coast shores. If the enviro-nuts are so worried about it, let them stand on Pacific beaches with Geiger counters. I notice they're not actively monitoring it any more than the government is, so how worried can they be? Or could it be they know the Geiger counters won't pick up anything more than background radiation?

    So again ...

    ***Yawn*** "So what?"

Seriously??? The government lies to us all the time.

Why would they lie about any of the things they routinely lie about?
