    Why did they hire her? Because she was female?

    Stars often do NOT make good coaches.

    I'm old fashion - leave men's Basketball to the men.

    PS - when will she be allowed to go into the locker room?

    That is your opinion ....

    .... and I respect it for just that .... your opinion!

    As for the locker room comment, that was uncalled for, and like you, I am not sending you a bill for this view, opinion or thought.

    However, men are currently coaching womens sports at all levels of school aged children, youth and teens, and on up to the pros. So why should a woman not be allowed to do the same? Furthermore, is there some Scriptural reason for this line of thinking?

    I agree. As for the locker room, even female reporters have access, and have for decades.

    The difference between women's basketball and men's is nowhere near as great a difference between:

    Women's softball and men's baseball
    Women's football and men's football
    Women's hockey and men's hockey

    I don't think it will be a stretch for her to contribute in the NBA. I could never see a woman coaching men's football or men's hockey, and I have a hard time believing it would work well in baseball.

    This is a great step for the NBA and professional sports in general. She's had plenty of success in the WNBA. She'll make a wonderful coach.

    And everything I read about male coaches of female teams is that they wait to be sure all players are dressed before they enter the locker room. Why this double standard? And will reporters be allowed into HER locker room or changing area, as they often do other coaches?

    Just like the military, women have no place coaching an NBA (or other male) team.

    Well said....

    :applause::applause::applause:

    I believe this is a giant first step, and if a woman can do it, the gender differences should not hold ther back!
