If you look at the photo attached to this story, one can't help but wonder how many of the folks marching with the Highway Patrol Captain are actually from Ferguson?

You have to look at this photo and ask yourself if this could happen in your peaceful, serene community?

I have several friends who make it their business as believers to go and protest against things affecting their community [abortion, gay marriage and illegal aliens], and like several of them told me, the last time they attended a Secure the Borders rally in Bakersfield; they knew everyone on their side, but they were shocked to see at least twenty busloads of Hispanic Migrants being dropped off on the other side of the street.

Suddenly, their group of around 50 peaceful protesters was being drowned out by a crowd of strangers that was at least one thousand strong! And getting in their faces. They all left before it got ugly, but they couldn't believe all the privately charted tour buses that aided the opposing view!

Here in Ferguson, the same thing seems to have happened. The family and friends of the victim wanted to peacefully protest what they believed may be a wrongful shooting death. However, suddenly, they are surrounded by hundreds if not thousands of people, who were not even from Ferguson, AND only there to insight violence via riots and then to collect their due pay from the local businesses by destroying private property and looting.

Not only do I wonder if any of the folks in this photo are from Ferguson, I have to wonder by a brother cop is out there walking side-by-side with them to protest what? The shooting of a teenaged kid that may or may not be at fault! It was a probably a good thing for him to walk with the protesters, but, I always thought LEO's supported one another, especially when the verdict is still out.

I also find it strange that all these changes of jurisdiction took place after Obama got involved? Can't help but think he had a say in what went down today. After al, he is a community organizer, deep down within? It's just too bad he couldn't respond that quickly to the Benghazi attacks, and to Getting Lois Lerner to give up the emails.

Oh, well: like with all POTUS's; if we knew the truth behind how things are being done, we'd be shocked and probably upset!

Still, the question is "Who is really running our communities?" Wait until you have an incident of this magnitutde and you will find out that the looky-loos are coming from everywhere but your city, and when they leave, your community will not be the same!

Does anyone else find the circumstances surrounding this day and the abrupt change in law enforcement strange? I watched an episode of the Mentalist last year, and was surprised to see the feds step in and dismantle the fictional Crime Unit Patrick Jane worked with! I remember saying to myself, this is fiction and television, the feds and the state would never obliterate a department like that? But after today, I have to wonder just who is wagging the tail? Is it the dog, or is the tail wagging the dog? We live in strange times, and it seems that even stranger things may be coming down the shoot! :tonofbricks:

He's been on a roll this morning. There is literally nothing to complain about. The intent of the officer was to deescalate and demilitarize the situation. He accomplished both withouth violence but by showing empathy. He walked with them to facilitate peaceful protest as opposed to the tense and hostile response to the local police force. Everything about the state troopers taking over has been a success. The fact that you are complaining at all speaks volumes about your character. The irony of this whole story is that in all of this, a man lost his life. Where is all of the outrage over that? I think we both know why. I doubt you will have the courage to admit it freely.

Nobody feels that the change of police was strange. It was stupid to have the local police doing crowd control after one of their guys killed an unarmed member of the community. The Governor made the correct decision to change the law enforcement presence and guess what? THE SITUATION IMPROVED. But you don't care about that do you? You never did.

    Courage .....

You don't know what "Courage is?" I happend to care a lot about the outrageous actions of olice around the country. Maybe you should read my link here on the board - http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=94933 "Is it ME, or do you think our police are out of control?" Before you take aim at me to besmirch me as a person! You know less bout me than you know about the events leading up to the riots a few nights earlier.

I ALSO know what it's about, but until the feds and the civic leaders in Chicago are willing to step out and protest the high number of black-on-black murders in their city streets, I maintain that these protests are more about anti-police, and not about blacks being killed by police.

Like with Trayvon and Zimmerman, once all the shouting is over, these events will end, and the rebel rousers will move, like a carnival side-shw to the next event. And more black men and innocent black children will die in Chicago this week and every week to come!

I think our cops are out of control. And I think being black is one of the main causes for their being out of control.

But if blacks are going to protest, riot and loot over this incident in Ferguson, then it is way past time for Sharpton and Jackson and Holder and Obama to re-focus their righteous anger towards Chicago. There are more black men being killed, senselessly in the streets of Chicago, as well as innocent victims, and if groups are sincere about their cause, they should be in Chicago, until something positive comes out to stop the killings!

It is time that senseless deaths at the hands of another stop, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon!

I maintain, that this protest would have been peaceful, had a large number of people NOT poured into Ferguson, to insite riots and loot stores.

I don't know if the police were heavy handed, but, after watching groups of young men and women, especially those men with facial coverings, running up the anger of the crowd to the place where the police did what they've been trained to do, and that is protect the property of others. If you want my honest response, both sides have poorly represented themselves!

But life does not allow "Do-overs!" There! I said it, and it took no courage, just being honest.

BTW my link on the cops was not as racially charged, because Hispanics, Asians, whites and blacks are all victims of over reaction and lack of restraint!

You know what. I can work with this. Most of this I can certainly agree with. The problem is that you didn't really address my comment. It was once again an "Obama" thing that you had a problem with. Or a "brother" cop thing which again is not appropriate. The new state trooper managed to succeed instantly where the police force failed. Yet you are all concerned that the law enforcement changed, even when his involvement in this case pretty much led to the situation calming down. I fail to see how anyone has a problem with this. Obama became involved because of the sheer lunacy of the democratic governor leaving the same police force that killed someone in the community to quell protest. Yet instead of giving someone credit for the outcome of a situation you immediately start scrambling to find something else to point a finger at. Somehow implying that Obama doesn't care about Chicago is folly. Sometimes I really wonder if some people actually hope for a disaster just to have partisan ammunition.

Well, in the words of the REV. Jesse Jackson, "they ain't had the funeral yet." I say this isn't over yet, 'cause I have not heard the fat lady sing.

I just heard the tension got flickering last night. The concensus was, the police did not give out enough info, and the video of the robbery was another trick by the police to defame the victim. Personally I agree, something is not right in Ferguson. I pray the truth is revealed before more rioting leads to more deaths.

I think the cops are out of control. There was another cop/black killing in LA this week, and while the crowds are still small, one thing feeds into another. My question is how will the black community in Ferguson handle it when the city police are returned to policing the streets?

Good point. I think the return of the organic police force returning back to duty needs to be handled very delicately. That police department really needs to be looked into for various reasons. The way they manhandled the media and threw tear gas into crowds with children did not nothing to help their own good will. I just wish the police knew how self defeating this has been for them. They are putting themselves in danger in their own district by planting more seeds of distrust and anger in their own back yard.

You want to send yourself and any white people there to help too? Are only black people being killed in Chicago? I think some of yall got an Obama man crush.

Just another strange stance to come from folks who are okay with capital punishment. Who can ever believe that such people are ever serious about being pro-life about anything?

Whites and Blacks. For an author, your writing skills are weird. But I'm gonna leave that alone.

Do you know something that isn't being reported by the news outlets? And unlike you, a person who does not know how to look things up to decently challange a persons statement, I will share a link that shows the percentage of black on black killings is arounf 75%. BTW - in a game of chess, this would be Checkmate!
    http://www.wnd.com/2013/01/chicago-murders-top-afghanistan-death-toll/

You have your view on capitol punishment, and I respect your view. But unlike myself, YOU will never respect or understand the views of those that don't have your wierd views.

Capitol punishment is a necessary deterant to the public who feel they can randomly murder another.

There is not comparision between abortion and capitol punishment, other than the wierd disconnect going on between your ears in what you calim to be a brain.

When it comes to me, I wish you'd leave it all alone!

Like I've said, Z, you and are on two different planets in this universe, and neither will ever come close enough to the others planet for one or both of us to see what and how the other person bases their thought processes upon.

Now since you are not going away, and I am not going away. And you are not changing how you see this life. And I am not changing how I see life. I would appreciate that you selling. your inferior stoc of goods. And as for you insults, inuendos, and hidden agenda comments; they are really and truly getting old. So old that you are the most predictable person I've met on this board! In other words, Z, you have become absolutley, and catagoricially:

What I know is that the as recently as 2011, the Bureau of Justice Statistics showed that most killings are intra-racial. 80+% of killings against Whites was by other Whites. But that's a little something that you dear "conservatives" who run back and repeat the little talking points from talk radio and FOX News, don't want to share. You know it's plain to see that a lot of you guys are just mad about the current President and are using this as an opportunity to say some things about Blacks that you've always wanted to say but hadn't been emboldened by talk radio( or whatever "conservative" medium that has picked up their talking points) to say yet. For all this talk about Black on Black crime, some of yall seem to be oblivious that the majority of crime is Black on Black, White on White, Hispanic on Hispanic, etc.

Speaks again to a racial prejudice that some try to deny, but it's clearly there.

When someone refutes the stats of another, it is common place and expected that they provide the link from which they garnered those numbers.

And if you would read the breadown charts in my link, from my source, show the actual, factual numbers. Your's goes as far as 2011, and I don't know if these are merely figments of your own imagination and puffed up ego .... ?

    Your move, Z....:sleeping_2:
