….Police made only one arrest, charging Marcus Jamal Jones -- known to friends as "Plucky” -- in the mob attack. Without outdoor security cameras and uncooperative witnesses, it was no doubt hard to make a case. Last March, Plucky pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and served a 90-day jail sentence….

:tear: Just a shame!!! That has got to be one of the most disgusting things I've read in a while.

There should be civil negligence suits against more than just McDonalds.

I'm with you. What kind of restaurant manager doesn't call the cops when a gun is brandished in a mob ?

I mean just disgusted!!! How do you do that to another person? How do ADULTS not rectify a situation where 400+ people are loitering every week and you know it's a powder keg?

I thought one of the reasons these places only kept the drive-thrus open and not the insides of the restaurants was because of safety.

I just feel nasty, disgusted to have read that and the utter disregard for life.

JESUS help us!!!

THIS story should have been a national headline when it happened yet this is the first I've heard of it.

COME LORD JESUS COME!!!

The kind that's black like the assailants.

I wonder how many of the folks who sat and watched this realized that this very same thing was done to Blacks by Whites not too long ago in the 60s and the 70s?

I wonder how many of them will sit and think about how their grandparents probably at some point experienced or knew someone who experienced this same type of mauling? How many of their grandparent's family members and friends never made it back home because of hatred?

History does indeed repeat itself and it's just as disgusting this time as it was in the past.

Come Lord Jesus Come!

I wonder how many of them are as ignorant as you are. Many of us lived through those times. We didn't make excuses for the perpetrators then and won't now. Regardless of skin color.

To excuse that kind of behavior on the pretense that it happened in reverse 50 years is beyond belief.

Racially, this country has come a long ways. Now it's sliding backwards and you excuse it based on the past. Ridiculous.

And you call yourself a Christian and try to judge us? Please.

It's a known fact that area is trouble during certain parts of the early morning after midnight.
cops don't do anything about it, maybe, because (1) they don't care since crimes are mostly black on black, or (2) they are being wise and prudent and just avoid the area so they don't have to tase, or whack with a baton, or shoot any of those black hooligans and start a race riot, and some looting, and some burning.
I'd say likely number 2.

 I'd say #2 definitely is a major consideration for any metro police force.

"..... the narrative they're promoting is false.

It obscures where most of the hate is coming from. Crime statistics have long reveled the real problem: high levels of black-on-black violence, followed by black-on-white violence, and mob attacks -- and the latter two phenomena have been on the increase at an alarming rate, underscoring deep pathologies in a growing black-thug subculture -- even as liberals in the mainstream media and Washington are unwilling to acknowledge this fact...."

Sodom & Gomorrah had some "deep pathologies".

Who made an excuse for them? What were you reading?

To excuse that kind of behavior on the pretense that it happened in reverse 50 years is beyond belief.

??? What are you talking about? I didn't excuse anything. In fact, I think that if a lot of the folks who were at McDonalds that night sat and talked to their parents and grandparents about some of the things that took place in the 60s and 70s, they too would be disgusted at their behavior.

Racially, this country has come a long ways. Now it's sliding backwards and you excuse it based on the past. Ridiculous.

You obviously have a reading problem or are just trying to stir the pot if you think I excused anything.

Despicable, disgusting, hateful stuff like this happens in this world. It happened to Blacks all the time just like this back in the 60s and 70s. And it happened to these two white people in Texas.

There was no excuse. Just an acknowledgment that a heinous crime was committed in 2012. But also acknowledging that the hurt brought about in reading this story made me think about how often black families experienced that same kind of hurt from the murders, the hangings, the lynchings back in the 60s and 70s.

I'm not lessening anything. Just making an obvious connection of similarity.

And you call yourself a Christian and try to judge us? Please.

I'll admit to frequent disagreement with some of Zaac's posts, but the above seems unfair. His post included the following:

History does indeed repeat itself and it's just as disgusting this time as it was in the past.

Doesn't look to me like he's "excusing" anything.

I agree.

And I apologize for the rant. I either missed that statement or misread it.

No excuses. And thank you for pointing it out.
