Look, like most things in life, things serve their purpose and then are more of a problem than they are worth.

Truthfully, the ideas of being politically correct, tolerant or diverse were always near the bottom of my To-Do-List or Top 100 Favorite Social Duties.

I always believed that if you treated another, they way you'd want to be treated, that things would be just peachy.

It sure appears that it is now time to stop with the need to ALWAYS be politically correct. It looks like the time to cease being tolerant with the attitudes and behaviors of others has run its course. And for sure, diversity served its purpose, and should now be put in the ground with a nice "RIP" on its headstone!

    So what do you think?

    Ditto. Biblical correctness is preferred.

Political correctness is nothing more than attempting to put one person or group on a guilt trip to cover up one's own insecurities. To demand it is a sign of weakness, not "tolerance".

Just curious, is it to dump one type of political correctness and replace it with your version of political correctness?

I have no form of anything. The society did quite well before the moral police implemented tolerance, diversity and political correctness and I suspect that human respect toward one another is enough to keep us going in the right direction. Enough with the liberal GUILT trip policies? They have only served to turn people into paranoid fools hiding their true nature from those wanting to tattletale and sue the guilty parties.

It is my opinion. Do what you want, as for me and my house we will apply graciousness and civility to one another. Treating others as we would want to be treated, BUT not afraid to speak our mind to those who may need to hear the truth for their annoying behaviors and lack of love.

My friend, there has always been politically correctness. The term has not been used long, but it was there and will always be there. I simply changes from era to era. Some words that were acceptable when I was a kid are not acceptable now. Some words that are acceptable now will not be acceptable in the future. Same old, same old with new faces.

    That is your political correctness.

so true - but if you asked an individual what was wrong with the word (fill-in-the-blank) chances are they wouldn't know - they were just told it was a bad word.

I will give you a perfect example - Years ago, the term idiot was used - then those individuals were referred to as "mentally retarded" now its mentally challenged. I'm sure someday that mentally challenged will be seen as wrong.

IMHO - it is the attitude of the speaker - for example if a person was to say "Hey your RETARD" now that I would find offensive.

One other thing- I find that PC language is often one way. Look at liberals - anybody more conservative than Obama is a right wing extremist - they would lump peaceful protesters right in with Terry McVeigh.

If I do not want to be called anti-abortion - would a liberal respect me by my chosen identity as Pro-Life?

    Works both ways!
