“The bottom line is that our planet is warming,” Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement on Sunday -- the same day he braved the cold and and the snow to watch the New England Patriots play football in his home state of Massachusetts.
Sunday's snowstorm in Foxborough was the strongest early-November snowstorm in over a century. Groundskeepers had to clear the field before the Patriots could play.

“The bottom line is that our planet is warming due to human actions, the damage is already visible, and the challenge requires ambitious, decisive and immediate action,” Kerry said in a statement released earlier on Sunday. He was reacting to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's latest climate assessment.

Rare early season storm brings record-setting snowfall to Maine

A rare early season snowstorm brought 50-miles-per-hour (80-kph) winds and record-breaking snowfall to parts of Maine overnight, leaving more than 140,000 homes and businesses without power on Monday.

Governor Paul LePage declared a limited state of emergency as slippery driving conditions, downed trees and white-out conditions led to a spike in accidents and shut down many local roads.

The massive, "nor’easter" storm dropped snow as far south as South Carolina, with snowflakes flying in coastal Charleston following a string of days over 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27C).

Record Low Temperatures Hit South Florida After Cold Front

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A cold snap set new record low temperature Sunday morning in Miami.
The thermometer at Miami International Airport tumbled to 52 degrees breaking the date’s previous record of 54 degrees set in 1993.
What South Florida considers a “normal” or average low for this time of year is 70 degrees, this morning the area woke up to a twenty degree dip from the norm.
Some communities across interior sections of western Broward and Miami-Dade counties dropped into the 40’s.
In West Palm Beach, the temperature dipped to 49 degrees, below the previous record of 51 degrees in 1993.
The low temperature in Key West fell to 61 degrees, breaking the previous record of 62 degrees set in 1957.

So the East coast has an unusual cold snap. I guess that's why the phenomenon is called GLOBAL warming, not U.S. east coast cooling.

I've heard of picking selective endpoints to prove something, but to pick the first weekend of November, 2014 to prove there is no climate change is beyond the pale.

Some people see the world the way they think it is, not the way it really is.

All over the world people are demonstrating their seriousness about climate change by throwing away their computers and lowering their use of electricity.

If the "globe" is warming (hence "global" warming) then all parts of the globe are warming. If the US being part of the globe that is supposedly warming is not showing signs of warming but, in fact shows signs of just the opposite then it creates a problem for those claiming global warming. Especially in light of the fact that records low temps are being seen.

Not sure why that has to be explained.

I would welcome a bit of global warming after last winter in Northern Wisconsin.

I know the prediction is that out here where I am at it will be a much colder winter than last year.

Same here. Was speaking with a concrete contractor friend last Feb (?). Said that they were witnessing near-48" frost depths. Many people having foundation issues.

No, it means the average global temperature is increasing.

It doesn't necessarily mean that every area of the globe is increasing. If the U.S. cools down 1 degree in the past decade and India and China have both increased 1 degree in the past decade....oh, never mind.

Not sure why that has to be explained.

I've never been as cold as we were last winter. We saw constants of 25 below, and dips over 40 below. And more snow than anyone can remember. If it's worse, well, can't do much about it. Blame you republicans, I guess.

It takes common core math, speculative and manipulated computer models, and the ability to flat out lie to figure out their idiocy with regards to so called global warming.

"I" don't have a problem. You have a problem grasping the concept of average temperature increases, which is a scientific fact. Up for debate is whether or not humans are causing it.

Baloney you cannot divorce temps from the far left extreme agenda. Of course nothing to back up your so called scientific "fact".
