Obama didn't learn from history?

Obama's major error was to say in Chicago on October 2 that his policies were on the ballot. The American people have had enough of his policies because money is hard and times are bad economically.

 

Apparently you are saying based on the midterm election results of 2014 the Republicans will win the Presidency in 2016?

Yeah, just look at the midterms of 1982! Republicans lost 26 seats in the House, and the.....wait, Reagan was reelected in a landslide.

Well, the midterms of 1986--Republicans lost 5 seats in the House and 8 in the Senate and then in 1988....the Republican candidate won the Presidency.

Yeah, and just look at the midterms of 1994! The Dems lost 52 seats in the House and 8 seats in the Senate and the, uh, wait, Clinton got reelected.

OK, just look at the midterm elections of 2010! The Dems lost 63 seats in the House and 6 in the Senate, and, oh wait, Obama got reelected.

So, no, I don't agree.

 

I don't believe the 2 "falls from grace" are similar at all.

Bushes was all about the economy.

Obama's is more a general repudiation of almost everything he has done.

The continuing sluggish economy. His handling of foreign affairs is an embarrassment. His energy policies. Repeatedly ignoring the constitution and bypassing congress. The coming amnesty for illegals. Despite the democrat narrative about a do nothing congress (meaning the republican dominated House), people realized the real problem was in the senate. They passed almost nothing. and more....

Considering Obama's personality and ideology, he wouldn't have changed a thing. He won't learn anything from the drubbing he just got , either.

 

Yes! I expect them to have a Keystone Pipeline approval bill on Obama's desk by January 23rd. Let's see if he vetoes it.

Then I expect the dozens and dozens of bills the Republican House wrote and passed onto the Senate, only to be blockaded by Harry Reid and the Democrats, to find their way to Obama's desk. Have one show up on his desk every Wednesday morning, for example. He'll probably veto them. THEN the American people will see exactly which party is the party of NO. And they will remember come 2016.

 

Me either. National elections are a totally different beast. The same folks and then some who voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 will vote for the Democrat candidate in 2016. And there will be another Democrat President to give conservatives more of what they say they don't want.

Why? Because a large part of the church has hemmed itself to a GOP which displays NOTHING of the character of Christ. Sure they can claim to stand on Biblical truth. But standing on Biblical truth means nothing if you constantly display no love for those whom Christ loves.

So again. Midterms mean next to nothing when it comes to Presidential elections.

Besides, the general populace doesn't like mean people. And the GOP comes across as angry and mean. :laugh:
