Gal. 2:7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter.

    What is Peter's gospel?
Acts 2 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

Summary: Jesus is the Messiah, was crucified and resurrected and now sits at the right hand of God. Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.

    What is Paul's gospel?
1 Cor 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures

Jesus was the Son of God, he died for our sins and rose again.

As far as I can tell, this idea that Jesus died for our sins was never communicated by Peter, this was Paul's message. Comments?

--Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.(1 Peter 1:18-23)

Right there is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ written by Peter.

Peter addressed it to...the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia....

"were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors" NIV

from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, NKJV

from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers NASB

Does not say forgiveness of sins is through the death, burial, and resurrection.

Born again....by the word of God.

Yes, but nothing is said that this accomplished the forgiveness of sins.

Think about how many verses Paul wrote that affirmed that Jesus died for our sins. Where are these verses by Peter?

Would not the shedding of Christ's blood not forgive their sins? Peter mentions Christ's blood being shed for them, so that should answer the OP, imo...

For pete's sake, Paul received his gospel directly from the same Lord who taught Peter the gospel. The difference is not the gospel! The difference is the audiance they are sent to (1) Circumcision versus (2) Uncircumcision.

True. But the shedding of blood is not precisely the same as death, burial, and resurrection.

Paul links the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus to the forgiveness of sins quite frequently. I can't find this being explicitly stated by Peter.

The sacrficial animal which was a type of Christ had to have its blood shed UNTO DEATH. It could not stop by the local red cross and just give a vial of blood and go one it way!

Why blood had to be shed until the victim died? Because the blood TYPIFIED the LIFE of the victim. That LIFE was typified by the words "without spot or blemish" thus it typified a SINLESS LIFE. Thus the "blood" was METAPHORICAL or REPRESENTATIVE of Christ GIVING HIS LIFE by death.

The shedding of his blood UNTO DEATH -the death of the cross represented him providing a PROPER SUBSTITUTIONARY LIFE for the sinner - a SINLESS LIFE from birth to death. The terms "death, burial and resurrection" provide the ACTUAL MEANS whereby that LIFE was given and ACCEPTED by God to have paid the sin debt IN FULL. His resurrection JUSTIFIED our salvation from sin becuase if God had not accepted HIS LIFE given in death as the full payment for our sin then HE WOULD HAVE REMAINED IN THE GRAVE UNDER SIN AND DEATH.

However, his resurrection DECLARED God had accepted HIS LIFE as full payment for sin, and thus vanquished the power of death.

In the verse you posted Jesus' blood saved the people he was talking about from the futile way of life handed down by their forefathers (i.e. being Jews). It doesn't say that Jesus' blood saved them from their sins.

Are you saying that peter and paul disagreed on just what the Gospel was, and how we are to get saved by Jesus then?

Souns like those who would claim that paul and james were in disagreement!

--Come, I pray you, and we reason, saith Jehovah, If your sins are as scarlet, as snow they shall be white, If they are red as crimson, as wool they shall be!(Isa. 1:18 YLT)

--and with blood almost all things are purified according to the law, and apart from blood-shedding forgiveness doth not come.(Heb. 9:22 YLT)

-- `The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, did glorify His child Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, he having given judgment to release [him], and ye the Holy and Righteous One did deny, and desired a man -- a murderer -- to be granted to you, and the Prince of the life ye did kill,(there's the death mentioned by Peter) whom God did raise out of the dead,(burial & resurrection mentioned here) of which we are witnesses; and on the faith of his name, this one whom ye see and have known, his name made strong, even the faith that [is] through him did give to him this perfect soundness before you all. `And now, brethren, I have known that through ignorance ye did [it], as also your rulers and God, what things before He had declared through the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ should suffer, He did thus fulfil; reform ye, therefore, and turn back, for your sins being blotted out,(shedding of Christ's blood mentioned here) that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and He may send Jesus Christ who before hath been preached to you, whom it behoveth heaven, indeed, to receive till times of a restitution of all things, of which God spake through the mouth of all His holy prophets from the age.(Acts 3:13-21 YLT)

There is no other way for forgiveness of sin other than the shedding of blood. The blood of bulls and goats wasn't sufficient, but Christ's is permanent.

That's what I am also thinking. There is no way to truly preach the gospel without the blood of Christ. No blood, no blotting out of sins. No blotting out of sins, no salvation...

I'll make my point and ask my question one more time.

Where in the Bible does Peter preach or talk about that we're saved because Jesus died for our sins?

Why is it that Paul talks about this a lot, but I can't find anything by Peter?

    Bonus.

    Why does Peter say:

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

    but Paul says:

    Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us

Peter ties Jesus into isaiah, as the Suffering Servant, great shepherd, who laid down his life for his own, by shedding of his blood,,,

And Paul had THE revelation from God for Romans and his so called 'pauline justification", so he had it tied down the most!

Acts 3:18 But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. 21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God

This is the Jesus is the Messiah and sits at the right hand of God and therefore "repent" message of Peter, same as in Acts 2

    Where in 1 Peter 1? Verse 10-11?

The Gospel of the Kingdom focuses on Israel serving Messiah on the earth. Peter was the apostle to the circumcision.
This Gospel of the Kingdom (ie: Millennium) will once again be preached, by Jews, during the Tribulation.
More is demanded of Jews (ie: "works") as seen in the Hebrew Epistles, such as Jude, James, and Peter.
Paul's Gospel of Grace through Faith without Works is the Gospel for the Body of Christ, and focuses on "heaven" as opposed to "earth".

But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; Gal 2:7
