    http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2015/03/13/protesters-call-for-disbanding-of-ferguson-police-department/

Well, they aren't happy that the big, bad cop that killed the Prince of Thugs didn't end up fired and lynched from the tallest tree in Ferguson.

They are not happy that the City Manager, Chief of Police, Municipal Judge, and several clerks have quit or been fired.

No, that isn't enough. A crowd, and granted it is a small crowd in comparison to the crowds that took over the streets in August, is calling on the mayor to step aside, and in the words of the Great King Of Law, Sir Eric Holder, they are screaming and stomping their feet while they demand the entire police force be dismantled.

If I were a cop in that city, I'd resign, effective last night, and leave the city without any law enforcement. Why resign? Because my life is not worth a plug nickel when buried within these groups of demonstrators are people with guns, wanting dead cops, preferably cops that are of any color but black. Which is something Ferguson PD has none? And to be perfectly honest with you, Ferguson as a whole, has become a hostile work environment.

Nevertheless, these men and women swore an oath to uphold the laws and protect and serve the people of this city, so they stick it out.

But, if they did disband, would that realistically end the anger and the protests? What say you?

What they want is an all black pd who is just like them. Much like the Muslim attitude with Israel nothing but the complete annihilation of a pd with white people in it will do.

    That is right, Rev!

Like someone once said, "If you give a protester an inch, they'll want a mile in return!" I can't help but think that ISLAM is somehow behind this. The Black Panthers and Muslim Brotherhood is definitely backing some of this hateful rhetoric!

Can anyone at all give me a source that they want an all black department? I think what they want is to not be treated like a roaving source of capital for the city.

I did not say they want an all black force ... they just want the current group out. What they replace it and city management and the council with is yet to be seen.

Actually only 25% of the police department funding in Ferguson comes for court fees and tickets while the surrounding cities are at 50%.

And considering that Ferguson is approximately 67% African American it is not surprising that a similar percentage of tickets would be issued to African Americans.

No, Rev did and then you agreed. Can you really blame them for wanting to change a police force that they now know is littered with proven racists? Do you think everything is A-Ok in Ferguson as it stands right now?

There are eight candidates, many first-timers running for three of seven council seats. Four are blacks. Compare to three black candidates running in the previous 120 years in Ferguson. The job pays $250 a month.

Typical elections in years past would have white candidates running unopposed which drew only 12% of registered voters, or about 1,400 voters.

There is also a mayoral recall effort underway.

Hmmmm, $250.00 a month buys one a lot of Thunderbird and Ripple!

Actually, this is a good thing. To see an interest in blacks running for the council is a great thing, and hopefully they'll get seated, in order to help calm and solve the problems of white rule in a predominantly black community!

First Ferguson local election since Brown shooting triples number of blacks on City Council

FERGUSON, Mo. — Two black candidates were among three people elected to the Ferguson City Council Tuesday, tripling African-American representation in the St. Louis suburb where poor race relations have been a focal point since the August shooting death of an 18-year-old black by a white police officer.

The election means that half of the six-member city council in Ferguson, a town where two-thirds of the 21,000 residents are black, will now be African-American. The lone black incumbent councilman was not up for re-election. The mayor, who could break any tie votes, is white.

Voter turnout increased substantially from the previous election following a strong get-out-the-vote effort from labor unions and other national organizations. The town that drew only 12.3 percent of registered voters last April had 29.4 percent turnout Tuesday, according to the St. Louis County Board of Elections. That was about double the overall turnout in St. Louis County, where Ferguson is located.

Unofficial results showed that Wesley Bell defeated another black candidate to win in the 3rd Ward. Ella Jones defeated another black candidate and two white candidates in the 1st Ward. Brian Fletcher, a former mayor who is white, won a 2nd Ward race against another white candidate.
