When it comes to the events surrounding the recent mob mentality towards law enforcement, I have to wonder when the Unions paid to represent cops will earn their dues and start pushing back against the victimization of cops doing their jobs.

It seems to me that if I were a cop in the current environment in America, that I'd consider finding a different career.

I have to ask this QUESTION of you fellow board members: Do you think the anti police mentality is worth staying the course, in light of the potential of having not only your life threatened with each call you respond to ... now, any wrong move during that call can result in being mistaken and having legal action taken against you because a suspect flips the script and cries racism and mobs force you to quit and face possible criminal actions.

Do you think it is worth the wage and perks for the risk to your life and now your career over disrespect for the badge? Would you risk it all for your community today?

A lot of them need to find different careers, along with some mayors and some judges and some prosecutors.

Yep. When they are killing unarmed folks, yep. Stay the course until they are all removed.

    Disrespect breeds disrespect.

Well that is your God given right as an American, and it was paid for by them Yankee soldiers that died in the Civil War. However the days of slavery are history, but, you seem to want to fight that war all over; again and again and again!

You forget that of the 385 men killed by cops this year, only 100 were black. That hardly supports your racist rants. But as the good Rev always says, ignore 'it' and 'it' will go away. I don't agree with the good Rev. I think you've found a home on the board, and you will stay as long as you have a chance to spew your un-Biblical hatred. So keep it going, son, you will one day answer for all the division you have stirred up. :tear:

As for me, I think the good Rev has one point worth taking, leave it too his rants, as they will never end, no matter what truth we share with you. You are beyond reaching. You are color blinded. :tear:

That's a lie. The 13th Amendment, when it abolished slavery, did so except for convicts. Through the prison system, the vestiges of slavery have remains. I know it. You know it. And most Blacks in the United States know it even if white people won't acknowledge it.

ALl we did was switch from one type of slavery to another.

Nope. I'm pretty sure that I didn't forget that. How many were unarmed? How many of the 385 were unarmed and white?

It hardly supports your racists rants either.

Call it what you want. White privilege affords you that. But I'll continue to combat the racism and racial oppression on this board and throughout the church. Your long-windedness ain't nothing but a rehash of what white "Christians" did in the face of slavery and Jim Crow.

I'm not your son, old white man. My dad died over 20 years ago. But I understand your need to father someone.

Gosh man. You're barely holding on to your sanity as it is. You wouldn't know truth if it bit you on your wicked tongue.

The days of Jim Crow are long gone. You are looking for trouble that does not exist. The majority of blacks do not believe like you, thank God. Radicals are always, will always be the fringe.

And I'm glad you asked about the number of whites killed in that number. It was 180. As opposed to 100 blacks, there is hardly any comparison.

One more thing, the cops are not doing drive by shootings. But if we listen to your nonsense, we'd think there was wholesale murder going on by white racist cops. You need to get a life.

As to calling you son. It all has to do with the childish manner in which you conduct yourself, son. I only refer to those who act like youngsters as "son!" Grow up, and you may earn the respect I give to my fellow adults.

    Shalom!

Yep. In some cases they've gone too far.

Your premise is flawed. So far as I know your scenario has only happened in the Michael Brown case.

Only 100? So 26% of all people killed by cops were from a race that comprises 16% of the population. :tonofbricks:

Coming from someone who spends their time looking forward to judging me, especially on things that are not directly related with the subject you cast dispersion upon, you have NO ROOM to talk! Read the entire article. I never said I was perfect! So your comparisons are like forcing a square peg into a round hole! They call this hypocrisy. You may want to try that outfit on and see how it fits!

Try, try again! As for me, Dim the Lights is casting stones when he lives in a house made of glass! :wavey:

That 16% of the population is rife with thugs and gang members. Many of them deserve to be shot and killed.

Yep, just like I said. Call themselves Christians and like the "Christians" of slavery and Jim Crow, they cosign with the murders and the lynchings and the burnings and the hangings and the beatings and the rapes.

Perhaps this is the reason the hand of God shall continue to come against the increasingly repeat brand of wickedness coming from folks who say they are His followers.

I think only a very small minority is anti-police. A larger majority is anti-bad police. Anti-getting-stopped-and-frisked-and-magically-dying-in-custody. That type of anti is much more prevalent.

I also believe this is just the beginning of what is to come. Right now, Blacks as a group are pushing back against maltreatment and corruption, but such things are happening to many citizens in many forms. The nation is smoldering. Just a few things included:

    1. Corrupt government. Voter voices go unheard while massive corporations buy their way to what they want. The people have finally started noticing and getting upset.

    2. Increased costs of living with lower working hours and lower job availability. Definitely a source of major stress.

    3. The number of authority figures found to be harming the children in this country in various ways. The testing scandals for profit, teachers raping kids, child protective services kidnapping children from hospitals. People are angry.

    4. Living under the threat of terrorism, while at the same time watching our military disarm and our borders open up. People are scared.

    And much more.

When people are upset, stressed out, scared, and can't get their voices heard, what do you think will happen?

And guess what? Those who are acting out about race relations are actually being heard! All the talking and discussion, the filing of complaints, the meetings - they did not work. Just like it isn't working for so many other issues. Are others ready to take back and restore our government and country? I think it is finally a thought. I think we (or another generation) will be able to look back one day and realize this explosion of demand for changes in race relations was the catalyst for other major protests for the betterment of the United States.

I agree Gina. And I think what people are gonna find is that, yes race is a factor for maltreatment in this country. But there also is a level of classism that's crazy. I think the lady slapping the young girl and telling her to go back to her section 8 housing speaks loudly about the attitudes of the haves towards the have nots.

In that regard, I would have to finally agree with JEremiah Wright about America's chickens finally coming home to roost. We created this mess and have for 400+ years allowed it to fester because slavery of some sort has made this country extremely wealthy. Be it the slavery of old or the slavery of the modern day prison industry.

People are gonna look back on this and compare it to the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement of the 50s and 60s. And they are gonna see and hear the Vines and Instagram pics of their white parents saying "if they would just obey" or "they are just thugs, shoot them all" and wonder how they could be related to these folks who said they were Christians, but showed no love for anyone who didn't look or think or share the same class as they did.
