It is now official, Latinos have finally made it to the top of the population ladder, and what they once predicted is now fact, not fiction. They outnumber all other races. They finally won back California, both legally and illegally. They top the population charts! They now own the state, like they once did before the whites came and settled here!

Can we give them a hand! :applause::applause::applause:

I wonder how long it will be before the they protest the flying over the state of California flag and demand it be replaced by the State of Mexico's flag?

The elderly Gov. Brown expects all Latinos to line up and vote Democrat. They is why they are here. Of course, they are to do the cheap jobs that Americans won't do and that means that they will never get a raise.

Rather liberal use of the word conquer. Anyway, there is nothing surprising about this. Everyone knows the Hispanic population is growing and is becoming a very importing block of voters. The GOP seems to be in denial and seems determined to follow policies that drive that voting block into the arms of the Democrats.

You are right they are doing that. What a shame they insist on following the rule of law. No telling where in the world that will lead this country.

Oh so wrong again Rev. You hear the word Hispanic or Latino and you immediately think illegal. The vast majority of Hispanics are legal. There are Hispanics living in California who trace their ancestry in California back to when it was owned by Spain and then Mexico.
You are going to have to accept and live with the fact that the legal and growing population of legal Hispanics is the 3rd largest legal minority group in the USA. And yet the GOP continues to follow policies that offend them and to propose new laws that disenfranchise them. The GOP is desperately trying to find a way to deny the vote to legal minorities. Instead the GOP should follow policies that will help and aid these legal populations.

Not a good way for a political party to survive.

    This is a lie.

Is it possible for you to have a rational, honest conversation ? One based in facts ?

    It does not appear so.

Prove it. In general that certainly is the perception among Hispanics.

And now there are some in the GOP who want to take away from Hispanics who are legally here.

So, what do they need to do to change the perception among Hispanic voters?

    Shove it. It's your claim.
    Prove it.

And now you're trying to change the subject. Nowhere in there is a claim of the GOP trying to take away the vote from legal minorities.

Ignoring liars like you and the lies you try to spread would be a good start.

You make these generalized claims but you can never back them up with anything substantial. You are certainly welcome to your opinion but when you say things like this and state them as fact then you reach outside of Christian rhetoric by making unsubstantiated claims. I do not think this type of rhetoric is what Christ would have us engage in. It raises the level of emotions over the issue and creates barriers, unnecessarily, to reasonable conversation, discussion, and debate over how to handle these things.

Do you think Paul was wrong when he said "Col_4:6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Lord knows I have failed in this. What are you going to do to resolve this issue as you move forward in your posting and discussing these topics?

I believe I showed in an earlier post that positions taken by the GOP have been perceived by Hispanics as anti-Hispanic.

    Let's look at some issues.

Gerrymandering ... as long as they can gerrymander and keep a majority they see no need to appeal to the Hispanics.

    Immigration

Trump's insulting remarks about Mexicans. That surely did not help sway Hispanic voters to the GOP.

The list could go on, but why bother. So, I stand with my statement. The GOP is perceived as a party that pursues policies that harm Hispanics and other minorities. You may or may not agree, but the is the perception of many.

    Not what you said.

    At all.

    You said….

Now you want to change what you said.

    Not very honest.

Why do you not have equal concerns about the perceptions of others who are concerned that our laws are being ignored in order to create a liberal voting block.

Gerrymandering has been a sin of both parties. Presenting this as only a GOP behavior lacks reason and shows either ignorance or a political agenda.

Immigration is viewed differently by many people. The problem is illegal immigrants who subvert our laws.

Ok well however bad his rhetoric is he does bring up a good point about the level of character of many of the illegal immigrants.

I don't know. If this is the case why say anything to anyone on this board at all. If that comment was just meant for me then why engage me at all ever. Such a comment is perceived by me in such a way that I believe you said it with condescension. It was not intended to further godly discussion but only to demean any position I have and hold to.It certainly is not intended to speak in love.

Sure they are perceived that way. Perception does not drive what is right or what is wrong. Perceptions in politics are driven by "messaging" and not by truth.

What you ignore is that those sources and the television media by a large work to paint the GOP that way. They do so by claiming that pursuit of the rule of law with regards to immigration should be overlooked and is only followed by the GOP for those purposes.

What is the real purpose behind this slanted reporting, and how should Christians who are interested in honest debate and genuine solutions supposed to respond to the issues?

    1. I propose that we continue to follow the rule of law as it stands in America. There is nothing wrong with it and no reason why Christians should be able to follow it in good conscience.

    2. If the immigration policies the US needs to be revamped then we need to do so. The barrier to this is the differing opinions on how to follow the rule of law and stop the illegal migration.

    3. We need a President conservative or liberal, Republican, Democrat, or otherwise who will not subvert the constitution and the rule of law in order to follow a presupposed political agenda.

    4. Those people who have crossed the boarder illegally need to answer for their behavior.

    5. Remake immigration laws that benefit the US but make it impossible for any political agenda to claim control of our democratic process without the voices of opposing views to be heard, involved, and heeded too.

Cubans will be denied sanctuary when Obama is finished with his recognition of Raul the murderer. Cubans hate Dems and vote Republican so they must be excluded.

On the other hand, Mexicans not only will do the low-paying jobs that Americans won't do, they also never ask for a raise and will never get one and they vote straight Democrat all the time, unlike the Italians, who after 100 years, have started to vote mostly Republican.
