Just north of where I live, there was a swarm of quakes estimated to be around 90. That is 90+ quakes hitting in a short period of time, almost simultaneuosly. The swarms can be a little unnerving as it feels like a continuous shaking of the ground beneath your feet.

Be happy you don"t live in earthquake country.

I am very glad I do not live in earthquake country. But if I did I would not compare them to swarms.

I wondered if this released pressure which would reduce the chance of a big one, or show signs that a buildup is coming for a big one. Read thisd line this morning:

Actually, I live in tornado country. Go to Youtube and type in Pleasant Grove tornadoes 2011. About 1/3 of my town was destroyed.

Lost two relatives in the F5 that hit Oak Grove a few years ago.

I lived in tornado valley for nine years. In June 1980 our town was hit with a n F-5 and because I worked for social services I was transferred to FEMA assistance, and counseled two of the five families who lost loved ones in the carnage. Our entire business district was gone after seven hours of tornadoes. Still, I'd take a tornado over the quakes, because there is no safe place in a quake. In my tornado days I stuck close to, or always knew where I could find depth and shelter in place. The Bible did promise. "lo, I will be with you always"!"

Well, you may not compare them to swarms, but those at Cal Tech, you know the geological geeks, called the a swarm.

Sadly, I agree with you! a quake is a quake is a quake. Be it one or 90, the ground is still moving under my feet and that is a scary moment times(x's) 90!

    Pele is getting restless.

Why do we seem to think it strange that God is fulfilling His promises? See Mt. 24,25.

The earth has been groaning and travailing since The Fall.

We are getting ready for a New Heaven and a New Earth--wherein righteousness dwells.

Earthquakes are not a new phenomenon--we have better seismology toys. We need some more reminders of our mortality. Towers of Babel are everywhere.

Time to wake up--our redemption draws neigh.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
