    Prayers going up.

But I wonder how many posts it'll take before the usual suspects blame this behavior on Obama or Hillary or one of the Syrian refugees?

COLORADO SPRINGS —At least four police officers have been shot and multiple civilians have been injured in an ongoing active shooter situation at a Colorado Springs branch of Planned Parenthood on Friday afternoon.

"This is still a very active situation," Colorado Springs Police Lt. Catherine Buckley said.

At 2:15, the police department reported on Twitter that officers were "encountering gunfire" from a suspect inside the Planned Parenthood building. The gunman has not made any demands or made any statements to officers, Buckley said. She said initial reports described his weapon as a long gun, such as a rifle.

"We do not know about this person's mentality or ideology," Buckley said.

I'm seeing a ton of comments on Facebook about how everybody assumes it's a "Christian" shooting at people. I also heard it's not even where it started. It started at a liquor store, and he made his way over to the PP. But that's just typical of people who hate God. Any chance to jump on the band wagon of hatred towards Christians. We have no idea what he claims to be, or what he's angry about. It probably has nothing to do with the PP. But it's ridiculous that they haven't been able to get more details about what's going on. They don't even know how many people have been injured. I guess it's because they don't want to send reporters into harm's way. But I heard he's locked up inside the PP and holding people hostage. And it's still going on after 3 hours.

(CNN)[Breaking news update, posted at 7:16 p.m. ET Friday]

Police have detained the suspected gunman accused of opening fire inside a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the city's mayor said.

"The perpetrator is in custody. The situation has been resolved. There's no continuing peril to the citizens of Colorado Springs," Mayor John Suthers told reporters Friday. "But there's a huge crime scene that has to be processed. We have to determine exactly how many victims there are. We'll be reporting on that in the near future."

Eleven people have been transported to local hospitals, according to Colorado Springs Police Lt. Catherine Buckley. Five of those transported are police officers from various responding agencies, Buckley said.

I'm not sure if he is a Christian or not. I'd say I'm hoping that he's not. But then again I hope that he is so that this sin can already be forgiven.
Political enthusiasts are gonna learn that when you stoke the fires and incite folks to anger as Fox News and the talk radio talking heads do, that anger breeds a type of hatred that causes some to snap and do stuff like this and what we saw in Charleston, SC.

The problem for Christendom here is that we've allowed ourselves to become too closely associated with partisan party politics and folks think that a party's position is the Christian position. Thus a lot of folks will think this is how all Christians feel and would react if given the chance.

While I agree with you in principle, there isn't really any alternatives to the current situation as there was before the late 1960s. Before the McGovern campaign, I could vote for the best candidate regardless of the party. However, since then, both major parties have moved to heated opposition of each other. Such that at the moment I can not in good conscience vote for the Democratic candidate.

I understand that too. But Christ is either first and we're with Him first. or we're against Him. And I'm sure if Donald Trump is the republican nominee, a lot of Christians will find a way to make it of good conscience to vote for him and his wickedness that in no way honors Christ just as they did in backing the Mormon who rejects Christ.

When it comes to Presidential politics, Christians will always make excuses to make their personal decisions more palatable to themselves. But just imagine if 16 million Southern Baptists bypassed the political pandering and backed their own Christ-honoring candidate who hasn't been corrupted by partisan politics?

I am not speaking just of presidential elections. I am speaking of (California) federal, state, and local (SF Bay Area) politics. As for the SBC, I am not numbered among them and haven't been for over 150 years.

Baloney....crazy does as crazy is going to do. Blaming Fox News and talk radio is just as foolish as blaming video games.

It might be baloney in your limited understanding, but when the world of psychology comes up against your crazy in the court of law, very few times is a plea of insanity accepted. It's been proven again and again that violence by extremists is often influenced by ideologies that condone violence, supported hatred, and encouraged extremism against the thing they finally strike out against. Fox News and conservative talk radio pundits have encouraged just that against Planned Parenthood, President Obama and anything that doesn't fall into the politically conservative space.

And if you truly think that what you watch and hear doesn't affect your behavior, then why don't you watch porn for the next year and get back to us on November 28th, 2016?

Nobody is saying they are the SOLE cause. But some people who are already imbalanced certainly have been getting validation and nudges that their craziness is correct from the likes of several Fox News and conservative talk radio personalities. Good gosh. Donald Trump is the direct result of the influence of Fox and talk radio. He started repeating the talking points years ago and suddenly thought he was politically clever just for rehashing ideas and thoughts that weren't his own. And now folks who agreed with what FOX News and the talk radio heads have have agreed with Trump for saying the same things. Now they are gonna find out that Trump isn't wrapped to tight and is stirring up a hornet's nest.

If it turns out that the suspect in this shooting had an ideological opposition to Planned Parenthood, was seeking political change regarding PP (suppose he wanted it defunded), is this an act of terrorism?

    Why or why not?

I believe you could definitely classify it as an act of domestic terrorism.

No if involved, this was a robbery/hostage situation. The shooter ran into a PP building:
    http://gazette.com/source-confirms-...d-shooting-3-killed-9-injured/article/1564419

but never let a crisis got to waste, they say. Nice try. I always find it strange that the MSM and the rest of the left jump the gun on cases like this - "must be a pro-life white supremacist terrorist that was inspired by hate radio!!!" unless it's someone screaming "Allah Akhbar!". Then they can't figure the motive and chalk it up to "workplace violence".
