Interesting that they're looking at a law. Makes ne think of vasectomies, where there are no specific laws but many doctors require that tla wife be notified.

From the article: "Louisville Democratic State Rep. Mary Lou Marzian said her bill, House Bill 396, was filed in direct response to a series of anti-abortion bills offered by Kentucky lawmakers."

Do you agree with the motive behind the bill?

I cannot edit my post. My question was directed toward CTB.

I don't think our resident DNC operative read the article, or it wouldn't have gotten posted. Because of legislation requiring women to receive counselling prior to an abortion, this legislation was introduced. Conclusion? Infanticide is merely birth control.

CTB just saw Kentucky, and thought whatever was making the news was the action of a Christian legislator. He (or she) does not believe unborn babies are living persons.

does the law also require a woman to get husbands permission to use birth control?

    All you say is false.

Let me ask you two questions.

    1. Should a woman be required counseling concerning abortions?

    (I do not oppose this)

    2. Should a wife's signature or approval be required before her husband can receive an Rx for Viagra?

    (I do not oppose this either as it is the wife who may become pregnant. Seems she should have some say in this. Do you agree?}

The comparison between obtaining viagra and getting counseling before slaughtering an unborn child in the womb is false. It is not a legitimate comparison. It is a stupid bill that will never see the light of day.

I'm going to assume you meant, "Should a woman be required to receive counseling before getting an abortion."

Now I'm going to restate your question using realistic language.

"Should a woman be required counseling before hiring someone to kill her child."

No I'm going to answer your question: Eff the counseling, thou craven, flap-mouthed maggot-pie!* Who but warped, rump-fed ingested-lump* would be ignoring the fact that it's the child in need of defense from violence!

Edit: "Now I'm going to answer your question:"

If I can, I'll just speak to no. 2. Legally it all comes down to HIPAA.

But viagra doesn't cause pregnancy, intercourse does. So the wife still has a say in the matter, whether viagra is a factor or not.

What would be a better comparison is if the woman needs the child's father's permission to have an abortion. Hmm - bet THAT would never fly. They are doing this because a woman should have counseling before killing her child? That's so dumb!! Of course a woman should have counseling so that she is aware of the choices she has and alternatives to what she is deciding to do.

They do not want all of the choices made available. They want the abortion to happen.
