A Marine was trying to be left alone while eating food at McDonald’s.

Christopher Marquez served 8 years in the Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Scout Sniper and Rifleman. In addition, he received the Bronze Star for valor after he carried a deceased team leader away from the Battle of Fallujah.

But this Marine and American hero wasn’t expecting what happened next… A group of black teen thugs surrounded him and asked, “Do you believe black lives matter?”

That’s when things turned violent… HORRIBLE!

A former Marine became the target of an alleged assault in a McDonald’s Friday night, as a crowd of youths cornered him and demanded he answer the question, “do you believe black lives matter?” Before knocking him unconscious and robbing him.

Christopher Marquez, a veteran of Iraq and recipient of the Bronze Star for valor, said he was dining at a McDonald’s in northwest D.C. when a group of black teenagers came up to him and allegedly began harassing him about the black lives matter movement. Marquez ignored them which prompted calls and shouts that he was a racist.

Marquez left the establishment after eating, but allegedly sustained a sudden blow to the back of his head outside the McDonald’s, which knocked him unconscious. When he woke up, his pants were ripped and wallet gone, which contained $400 in cash, three credit cards, his VA medical card, school identification, metro card and driver’s license.

“I remember this group of teens harassing me while I was eating, they surrounded my table and kept on asking me ‘Do you believe black lives matter,’” Marquez told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Then they started calling me a racist. I can’t recall if they were saying anything else to me at this moment because the blow to my head really screwed up my memory.”

But they were really nice kids, just trying to turn their lives around.

The source is dailycaller, which looks like a tabloid site (complete with swimsuit links), and there is no reference at all. Not any news service or police report or any other detail; just "a McDonald’s in northwest D.C.", so it looks phony to me. Can't even find anything on it on the mpdc site.

Yea you know just gentle giants.

Well when you murder unarmed folks who look like them with rarely anyone being charged, it shouldn't come as a surprise that they would start figuring other lives shouldn't matter if theirs don't.

And after all the unarmed black men that the police have murdered, with not a word of empathy from ya, it's amazing that you now want to supposedly show concern for a man who was knocked unconscious.

Reeks of racial prejudice and politics.

When you start with the presupposition that you do not like the news report and do not want it to be true this is the kind of mistake that is made.

Daily Caller is a reputable news source which is often quoted by other news sources:

Wreaks of racial prejudice and politics.
So.....Ferguson excuses their actions? If this story is factual and a group of men beat up Marquez, then it is on them. They will answer to Christ on the Day of Judgment....and I doubt "the police are hunting down black men" is going to cut it.

So, I've said what I think. And then you have to factor in all the black men who DON'T run around attacking people in restaurants....then the notion of "they don't think their lives matter" doesn't hold much water IMO.

I have nothing against black folks. I have something against gangs beating people up.

Zaac, do two wrongs make a right?

Absolutely not. The behavior is disgusting as has been the behavior of certain police officers and prosecutors.

But one of the reasons they started BLM is that a lot of black people recognized that a certain demographic didn't care and even proclaimed "they got what they deserved" when unarmed black men were being killed by the police.

They were convinced that their lives didn't matter to that certain demographic that was supporting the actions of some of the police.

They had seen and knew as demonstrated by this story that those same folks who supported the actions of the police would only get outraged when it was someone nonblack being attacked or killed.

And I think the point of BLM is highlighted by the reaction to this story by some.

Black life has bee marginalized since the beginning of this country and the creation of this false construct of racial "black and white".

I believe it's a shame that human beings feel as though they have to treat another human being as though their life doesn't matter for ANY reason.

But from their perspective, this is exactly what has been done.

It is just not factual that police are hunting down black men and killing them. Such an idea is just delusional.

So.....Ferguson excuses their actions?

I certainly didn't say that. I just believe that this was bound to happen based upon the pattern of results that black people were seeing.

If this story is factual and a group of men beat up Marquez, then it is on them. They will answer to Christ on the Day of Judgment....and I doubt "the police are hunting down black men" is going to cut it.

I agree.

So, I've said what I think. And then you have to factor in all the black men who DON'T run around attacking people in restaurants....then the notion of "they don't think their lives matter" doesn't hold much water IMO.

It actually is a nonfactor because a lot of those black men running around not attacking anyone are still very much aware that to some their lives don't matter. They just choose to deal with it in a different manner.

I have nothing against black folks. I have something against gangs beating people up.

And a lot of them will tell you that they don't have anything against white police officers and white prosecutors. But that they have something against white police officers who kill unarmed black men and against the white prosecutors who refuse to prosecute them.

Who said they were hunting them down and killing them? Black men aren't hiding. There's a steady "supply" of them in the country. So no hunting is needed.

The biggest problem black men face is that their black lives don’t matter to other black men.

On average, 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2012, according to the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Reports. Using FBI and CDC statistics, Professor Johnson calculates that 112 black men, on average, suffered both justified and unjustified police-involved deaths annually during this period.

112 killed by cops. 4,472 killed by other black men.

This equals 2.5 percent of these 4,472 yearly deaths. For every black man — criminal or innocent — killed by a cop, 40 black men were murdered by other black men. The, at most, 2.5 percent of the problem generates relentless rage. And, yet, it is rude-to-racist to even mention 97.5 percent of the problem.

The notion that America’s cops simply are gunning down innocent black people is one of today’s biggest and deadliest lies.
