If Trump goes on to be our POTUS, and practices the same financial restraints in running this country, he really could cut the national debt".

Do you think that the way Trump 'did a lot with a little' will translate into prudent spending and wise decisions in the way he budgets and runs America?

We've never had a president in my lifetime who wanted to cut the national debt. Democrats dig for money to for welfare programs (to buy votes from the poor) and Republicans dig for money for wars (to buy votes from supposed Christians).

No, because you don't run the United States on free publicity and phone-in interviews.

Well, you never know, that might be Trump's plan if he's elected POTUS. Hide out in the White House and tweet a couple times a day, phone in an interview to Hannity's show, sell some hats "Make America Safe Again", maybe hold a rally once a month in various locales.

No one said we should. However, there has been great wisdom in the way trump has handled financing his campaign. Very out of the box thinking that has been effective.

Agreed that this style has worked for him in the primary season. Let's see how he handles the general election. I think it would be a mistake to think this same methodology would work in the general election. He's not going to get the free media he got in the primaries, for example. He's lagging in fund raising compared to Clinton, lagging in personnel on the ground, data collection, etc. The last week or so has shown some amateur mistakes.

Maybe Trump would cut the national debt... but, no... Democrats want him to expand welfare program and Republicans want him to expand the military. No one really cares about the national debt because we're not honest enough or smart enough to recognize the costs of deficit spending.

This is why I love you!!! Folks can be so silly. Factor in all his free publicity and phone interviews for which anyone else who wasn't bringing in killer ratings would have been charged and you'd have to be crazy to want a President who spends like that.

Naah. I forsee him doing quarterly shindigs in which he spends billions to brag about what a great job he's doing.

If he became President, he'd proclaim "I killed Muhammad Ali. Now I''m the Greatest!":D
